i thought this would be a thread of tory bashing. Had a glimpse of the sun the other day at my daily paper musing down Sainos. Shows a picture of Cameron carrying a coffin with NHS written on it. The first argument from non tories always seems to be some half baked nonsense about what non-tories perceive is going on. It seems to me that they'll oppose everything tory. Wouldn't you if you were desperate to beat your enemy?

Think you'll find that was the Mirror not The Sun. the latter being pro Tory. Think they've should have done one of the Two Eds with a coffin bearing the words "Labour's soul and purpose" for a bit of balance.

Obviously very focused in your opinions ???

Interesting graph. Whilst I agree that the BNP are the most authoritian, are they really only just right of centre? More left wing than Labour and the Lib Dems?

Think I actually saw it on the front page of the Mirror. Maybe the Sun did do it but I'd be surprised. They are pro Tory and while they do still bash the Lib Dems even in coalition, they'd be unlikely to bash Cameron even on the NHS.

A lot of people are writing off the Lib Dems at the next election, but to be honest I really don't think people should - because there are very few 3-way marginals. In these, I agree the Lib Dems are probably dead, but they're so small in number it's irrelevant.

The Lib Dems will be concentrating on:

1) Labour/Lib-Dem marginals - Tory supporters will be much more happy now to vote Lib Dem in these seats (than they were in 2010), so I don't think the LDs will be hurt.
2) Tory/Lib-Dem marginals - What other choice do Labour supporters have?!

Back to the question in hand though...... personally I fall into category 2. I'm absolutely not a Labour supporter, don't particularly support any party right now. However my hatred for the Tories surpasses even that for the Lib Dems that they are governing with, so I'd probably vote LD.

There is no way the Conservatives are that right-wing.

i think you'll find the word "economic" is missing from that. do wonder how how they determine the party positions, for example in order to enact Green policy you'd have to be very authoritatian. just legalising cannabis is not Libertarian if you're banning coal power stations and non-organic meat.

From the outside looking in -

Lib Dems - have pretty much committed political suicide... prepare to see their biggest collapse since Lloyd George

Conservatives - Everything the naysaysers said they would be.... Thatcherism by stealth (-ish)

Labour - completely unelectable with the team they've put together - need to go back to basics and bring back something new and palatable to the electorate

Me I wouldnt vote but would think Cameron would get a majority because although he is bad noone would take a risk on the equally bad other options. Its Thatcher versus Foot all over again.

Agreed, and sums up my main issue: the lack of debate.

Has it always been this bad, has it got worse during the current administration or have I just become even more intolerant of late?

I can barely hear either of the Eds on the radio now without shouting expletives in their general direction. They offer literally nothing constructive at all.
It's realy funny that you should say that as in our office we did a snap poll of what springs to mind when Milliband comes on TV/radio and "shut up you f***ing twat" won with nearly 41% of the vote!!!
