As usual, got completely bladerated and can't remember anything about the show.
Hornblower - you're not the fella who was in Darts back in the day are you, by any chance?
I was in the Darts fan club. In fact, I probably still am, since it was supposed to be life membership!
My first gig was aged 10 or 11 - Darts at Eastbourne, supported by Screen Idols (fronted by Michelle from 'ackney, who I think is/was thingy from Eastenders). I was with my mum and dad, who bought the programme - and in your biog you bigged up the Albion. I'm not going to forget that, am I?
BTW here we all are, hiding behind screen names, and you're using the stage name you had 35 years ago ...
Wow a genuine fan how brilliant. There are a few old time NSCErs who know who I am (was?) but I'm impressed that you rumbled me. It might interest you to know that we still play gigs from time to time (all original band members) and we're playing the 100 club in June if you're interested
I saw a bit of the Robbie Williams performance which seemingly summed up exactly why he should NOT have been given any kind of outstanding contribution to music award.
I didn't watch it, the thought of watching the completely outdated and not funny in the first place Peter Kay present the thing was enough to put me off.
The same Peter Kay voted the number one comedian in Britain? Despite only ever performing two tours? Outdated? Despite making hilarious jokes about every MODERN act that appeared on stage?
Clearly voted for by idiots who think stand up comedy begins and ends with comedians who appear on either Jonathan Ross chat shows or the Chris Moyles radio show.
Nothing Kay said was particularly funny, most of it was his standard comedy fare of ohhh look lets compare something to a dated 80s reference, Su Pollard, Bucks Fizz, Shakin fuckin Stevens, f*** off. Kay yet again proved that he's a one trick pony who reverts back to that trick when his crutch of stealing gags off of non televised comedians is removed. f*** you Kay you unfunny nothern twat.
Northern twat? I don't even know why I begin arguing in favor of northerners as the hidden agenda is always the above statement. Kay isn't exactly a televised comedian either is he? he appears on J. Ross every two years and does the occasional project every few years like Phoenix nights, Max and Paddy and that X factor spoof.
Televised would be Jimmy Carr who is hideously UN-funny.
I'm a northerner born in Rochdale so try again with that one sunshine.
He is a televised comedian, Phoenix Nights, That Peter Kay Thing, his hideously unfunny X Factor "parody" numerous adverts and chat show apperances when he's got his latest rehased DVD to peddle mean he's clocked up a lot of tv and idiots think he's funny. The reason he never tours is because the public would realise he's a one trick pony and now he's too famous to sit at the back of badly lit comedy clubs with his note book stealing other comedians material, he's lost his route to new "material".
He's not funny, he got lucky with his first DVD proving popular and Phoenix Nights being a hit and he's milking that for all he can. Don't bother going to his "tour" just stick on one of his old DVDs and you'll save yourself the ticket money cause it won't be any different.
