The Big news is this

What I am saying is that not everyone uses the travel scheme....what about poeople who buy a ticket on the day at the ticket office and collect it at the ground....they cannot use the travel voucher but are charged for one!

Not quite. People can, and do, use the P&R's when collecting tickets at Withdean since the buses are there anyway and the bus company is not paid according to the number of passengers they carry.

If you feel that strongly, and bearing in mind you're advocating the club should break its planning restraints - merely offer the club £4 less for your match ticket in future.

If you feel the former is achievable, the latter ought to be a walk in the park.

that is the whole point in a discussion...being all patronising is typical of you .

No, it COSTS the club to run it.

Hold on I cant see that?
The insider states that the club pays for only the tickets handed in.
If like you say, they are not collecting your ticket then the club is not paying for you either.
Are you telling me the club are paying a fixed price? Based on what usage?

I don't know for sure but it seems to me that Insider's 'fixed price' response relates to fans using the travel vouchers on scheduled bus and train services.
He also says there are other services provided such as the two P&R's and 'various rentals'. I think the special buses from the city centre to the bottom of Tongdean Lane will fall into this category and are more likely to be contracted on a vehicle hire basis. If so, the bus company has no interest in collecting the vouchers since it gets paid for the vehicle not the number of passengers carried and I think TLO may use these.
It wouldn't be surprised me if the club made a loss on the travel voucher scheme since all the stewards at the P&R's and pick-up points, sign erection/removal etc also have to be paid for.

Even though I can see where the club are coming from on this but I think they would have been better off doing Under 21 tickets at say £7 a game and then reduce the adult tickets by £2 as a good will gesture.
The two main problems that I have with this is that kids that age has the biggest disposable income and also the take up for cheap tickets for the Walsall game earlier this season wasn’t great either (which I know was only a student offer but still…)
