Not remotely. A tedious one-trick pony of a show with a contrived and very obvious script. "Hello - something funny is on the way!"

Three things make this show, Sheldon, Howard and Penny's boobs.

Overall its a pretty good yank sitcom and it blows how I met your mother out the water, however I don't think it beats Friends. I've been re watching Friends recently, I'm currently on season 7. I forgot how funny it was, its full of sexual innuendo that I never noticed watching when I was younger.

Started well, very original, lost it's wat when they tried to inolve the girls more. New series much better but they shouldn't have taken another break so soon. BBT moments of comedy genius like Sheldon in the ball pool. But the standard over several series was more consistently higher in Friends.

Parks and Recreation is streets ahead of TBBT if we are talking American comedies. Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson is one of the best comedy characters in the US and the UK for the last 40 years. It is outstanding.

I think its a great show but not the best sit com ever.

One problem is...recently they had a countdown of the top 5 shows on E4 and tbh, i'd struggle to think of any that are stand out episodes, funny, yes but similar.

Most shows have episodes or moments that are hugely memorable from the rest but for the BBT... the episode where.....?
