The Best & Worst Footballing County?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
They did have Oxford though, the biggest team in the Conference.

True, but they are, currently, a very weak footballing county. Thankfully, Wilder looks like he is the man to bring them back into league football. Just need to wrestle the stadium from Kassam and they can make some strides up the football league.

Derby County are the best supported team (going by population) after ManUre according to Alex Fergie, well a rams fan told me this in a pub, not sure if he was telling porkies, but they did average over 30,000 attendance last season and so far this season too. They were best supported out side prem by a mile before Newcastle came along

I think Luton might argue that one with you. Plus the scum were non leauge up until the sixties they just had a 30 year period of professionalism and went back to their rightful place.

Dont mean this to sound like a dig but as a swindon fan do you not feel a little embarrassed to have the mighty oxford as your main rival?

according to to 442 a couple of years ago we were one of the top 5 most hated teams in the country, something that gave me a tinge of pride, Oxford, bristol rovers and city, reading, cardiff, cheltenham, yeovil, plymouth, wycombe and gillingham had us down in there top 3 teams :)

Reading were always our traditional rivals until the seventies when it started kicking off with oxford. As much as i love the fact they play plumbers and postmen every week i dont half miss our derby games with them. But not so much that i want them to get promoted, silly fuckers :)

Always made me laugh when Reading were in the premiership and whilst watching them on sky would hear "we hate swindon" songs ringing out.

cornwall, west sussex, isle of wight and rutland have never had a league football side

so they're the worst

that map's a wee bit out of date, plus i'm not sure why isle of man is on there, posing as a county

Wasnt the Goldstone Ground in West Sussex?

Regarding Cornwall, Truro City are zooming up the leagues at the rate of knots, Southern League at present.

Northumberland don't have a league side at present, unless you count Berwick
