Cant stand that Elf film - possibly one of the worse films ever made so if you have said it - your probably added to my ignore list.

Having the old folks round, then having them fall asleep on the sofa and mumbling whilst asleep in an old peoples kind of way.

Sitting round the table eating Christmas Dinner ( with Bread Sauce) with the close members of your immediate family. As the years go by the older ones disappear and new younger ones take their place at the table. Unfortunately my Sister and I are the only ones left that understand Bread Sauce. Tempus fugit.

So this doesn't have anything to do with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (which is likely to take place around Christmas)?

Bucks Fizz in the morning - No thanks
Kids stockings - Seconded as long as you have kids, bit odd otherwise.
Turkey and lots of it - Seconded
Presents - Seconded
Charades - Should be banned, no way.
Afternoon sleep - Seconded, unavoidable I'm afraid.
Pre-lunch pub trip - Seconded

And I raise you a tastefully decorated living room, looks brilliant for a week or two then I'm glad to get rid.

There is. It's the only thing left on the table at the end, so you don't feel bad all the JUNK you've thrown down your throat.

That won't be true this year when my dad snaffles it all.
