One of the best in recent years imho was This Country....... you just couldn’t help liking them. Brilliant writing.

Has anyone chosen any of ITVs sitcoms yet?
Across the board, abysmal.
I’m struggling to think of one that I liked.

Well as someone who watched it at the time I can assure you the laughing was at Alf Garnett, so yes about his bigotry towards everyone include his wife and son-in-law who were of course white..

Very young at the time but recall that son-in-law was a "Scouse Git".

Quite a few mentions of On The Buses and Rising Damp amongst others. Also Auf Wiedersehen, Pet although probably more of a comedy drama.

Ah the Good Life, a threesome with Barbara (what a Bum) and Margo (lovely Norks) was a 16 year olds dream.

Will probably post about my favourite Sit Coms a bit later when I have calmed down. :p

Wrong show! You’re thinking FK and PK.

That’s an interesting observation, yeah, I can’t think of any either! Different Strokes?

Wasn't Rising Damp ITV? That's been mentioned a few times

Quite liked Please Sir when I was a kid.

And Doctor in the House wasn't bad

Er... struggling a bit after those

Personally, I really didn’t like Rising Damp, Please Sir was alright though.

I think Frasier is the best sit com ever made. Both it and Seinfeld are still rewatchable and great. Though not sitcoms the thing I laugh at the most now are probably various UK panel shows.

Frasier is my favourite sit com as well. I love the way it can switch between a very high brow discussion about red wine to broad physical slapstick without missing a beat. All the regular characters are so well written and performed, but some of the guest performances are knock outs as well, I always like it when Frasier's ex Lileth is in the show - the actress that plays her is brilliant.

The Simpsons tapped into the series when they introduced Sideshow Bob which is clearly based on Frasier, together with his brother Cecil (Niles) - they were great episodes.

West is BEST
In no particular order I’ve enjoyed;
The thick of it
Murder in Successville
The Office
Early Doors
After Hours (another little known gem from the Craig Cash/Caroline Ahern stable)
Back to Life
Porridge
Toast of London
Rabbit
Curb your enthusiasm
Blackadder 2,3 and 4
Peep Show
The reluctant landlord
Phoenix Nights
Stath lets flats
The Job Lot
Hi de Hi
Brush Strokes
Bottom
Bread
Watching
I’m Alan Partridge
Saxondale
The Detectorists
Him and Her
League of Gentlemen
Red Dwarf
The Inbetweeners
Zapped

And dipping into radio

In and out of the kitchen
Hut 33
Count Arthur Strong
Hang Ups

I’m sure there’s many more.

Wrong show! You’re thinking FK and PK.

Not at all, Felicity Kendall was Barbara and Penelope Keith was Margot. Would have done sterling service to both at the time (1975-78).

Probably FK slightly more often than PK but can't resist a bit of Posh so she might well have had it a bit Rough Trade...
