A bit of shameless nostalgia, and a simple question: which is the KING of Roald Dahl books? Any book about a chocolate factory has to be a winner for me, but then I am a woman :lolol:

Probably The Witches for me, was terrifying.

Honourable mentions (as have not been mentioned) for Esio Trot, The Giraffe The Polly and Me, and a fantastic one I can't remember the name of that was a collection of short stories.

Tales of the Unexpected? Quite creepy they were.

A literary GENIUS for my money, accompanied by the unmistakeable illustrations of Quentin Blake.

...and those are just his childrens' stories. He also wrote loads of Adult's short stories. His Autobiographies 'Boy' and 'Going solo' are both fantastic too.

I remember reading his autobiographies at school, his own life was every bit as interesting as his fictional books.

If ever there was an author who knew exactly what made readers of all ages tick, it's him. Some of his stories for adults are terrifying.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is the one I was thinking of.

And yes, his autobiographies are brilliant as well.

I can't pick just one!

I always enjoyed the revolting rhymes book. Plus at least 6 on the poll.
