Not a big hit.

An under-rated classic. It was genuinely difficult to pick which one you would actually tub, which is quite a feat for a girl band in their twenties. Well done ladies!

Possibly not...

Not a big hit.
I took it to mean 'possibly not a one-hit wonder.'
Well if it's referring to Redbone then I can only remember Witch Queen of New Orleans as being their only hit (in the UK).
Brilliant, loved the Framptonesque wa wa bit in the middle, thanks.Well, if you liked it, here's the 12" version.

Well it lost me, but then it isn't hard to !I took it to be referring to his suggestion of Bill Haley and the Comets.
Talking of John Miles, I have a couple of his pre-'Music' singles, and they give a clue as to why his biggest hit only had one verse repeated over and over again. I suspect lyrics weren't his strong point.
Here are some of his lyrics that probably haven't surfaced in thirty years, from a rare B-side called "Come Away Melinda." The song has a good tune and is sung with heartfelt emotion but, well, oh dear. . .
Daddy, daddy, come and look,
Come and see what I have found
Just a little ways away from here
While digging in the ground
Aaaaaaaah, come away Melinda
Come in and close the door
It’s nothing, just a picture book
They had before the war
Daddy, daddy, come and see
Aaaah daddy come and look
Why there’s four or five little Melinda girls
Inside my picture book
Aaaaaaaah, come away Melinda
Come in and close the door
There were lots of little girls like you
Before they had the war
Aaaaaaaaaaaaah, daddy daddy, come and see,
Aah, daddy, hurry do
Why there’s someone in a pretty dress
And she’s all grown up like you
Aaaaaah, come away Melinda
Come in and close the door
That someone is your mummy
You had before the war
Aaaaaaaah, daddy daddy,
Please tell me if you can
Why can’t things be the way they were
Before the war began
Aaaaaah, come away Melinda
Come in and close the door
The answer lies in yesterday
Before they had the war
Aaaaaah, come away Melinda
Come in and close the door
The answer lies in yesterday
Before they had the war
(I'm still working on what the answer might be.)
I did indeed mean 'possibly not' as in possibly not a one hit wonder, although I can't think of another song attributed to Haley and the Comets that is so famous.
I loved this as a wee lad...
