Fair play for the Cardiff Fan coming on here. I honestly believe that there are some great fans out there as well as some bloody idiots.

This gentleman is one of the good guys, and i wish that we had more like him.

(1) Did you arrive by Coach/Train/P+R etc - how did you find the transport?
(2) Agree about the prices - however away fans CAN go behind the goal, for £28.00 which include either P+R, or 'localish' public transport, which I think is pretty good.
(3) What was the catering like in the away end - diod you have a 'local' beer?
(4) Come back next season, when it's finished - it really will be superb.

I'd endorse what my fellow City fan has said in this thread. It was my first visit to the Amex, and while I was a little suprised that the areas under the stand felt a little cramped, I thought everything else about the set-up was very good indeed. We came on the train. We'd been warned to fear the worst in terms of travel, but getting there was fine, and (other than the minor inconvenience of a half hour wait at Lewes surrounded by some very rowdy and threatening looking Glyndebourne types - ha) so was the return.

Very friendly and helpful stewards and catering staff (though the lady behind the counter did look very confused when I ordered two pints of SA - my fault probably, not hers!). Nice touch having the away supporters' brew on, though I'm sure some fans probably wouldn't mind trying the local ale? (...you can't win I suppose!)

Thought your fans were pretty loud at times - we speculated that might be down to the design of your stadium , which seems to hold the noise in much better than ours. Anyway I'm sure you'll get the place rocking, especially when you get a full and noisy away end as well.

Thought you'd give us more stick for the 'red' thing. Sadly, those of us profoundly against the rebrand appear to be fighting a losing battle on that one.

1) I came by coach so yes the transport was very easy.
2) Personally, my ticket was very reasonable as I'm 17, but I can imagine 34 quid for an adults ticket plus travel on a Tuesday night put a lot of people off.

I for one didn't join in with taking the piss out of the red because what's been done to City's heritage by owners who may, for all they know, be gone in short order if they can't turn Cardiff into Man United in two seasons, is no laughing matter.

If it were happening here we'd be fighting it pretty hard, I hope. Only thing I'd say is that the fans seem to have caved a lot more easily than I'd have expected when they threatened to take their ball (of money) away. I genuinely thought nobody would buy the red shirt, but there were a few in the crowd for the Cardiff v Hudds game the other night, albeit mainly on kids.

It could just be a matter of being careful what you wish for - if CCFC's owners turn out to be another Venky's, who'd want their damn money?

On point (2) the £28 tickets in the South Stand only become available after the initial allocation of ESU £34 and SEC £28 have sold out. That is what the away fans will be all moaning about during the season if they bring less than 2,000.

Precious? I made no comment on other people singing - I merely stated my own feelings on the matter. Sing what you like within the law, mate, if it makes you happy.

Was it 'banter' when the Fulham fans in the paddock were singing 'One Billy Archer' during our own issues? I seem to remember plenty of people getting fairly worked up about that - I was one of them. Was I being precious then? Who's to say their owners won't turn out the same way?

It hasn't got to the Archer stage yet though but who knows what will happen? As a football fan i am very much opposed by the trashing of Cardiff's heritage but as Brighton fan i took the p*ss because it was fun. If things worsen then, no i wouldn't but quite honestly if a club changes their traditional strip in these circumstances then they've got to expect some stick.
