The others are at their peak, they’re good players but unlikely to improve too much now. Lamptey is right at the start of his career and is already one of the best players in the squad. We stole him off Chelsea for that £3m.

Bissouma is by a country mile our best asset and will probably be off in the summer for 40 million quid or so .

Whoever stumps that amount of dosh up will still be getting a bargain, Bissouma is a class act and will establish himself as one of the top holding midfielders in the world .

Sad to see him go but I think it's inevitable, so financially he's our best acquisition.

Veltman was a absolute steal at 900k but his resale won't be astronomical, same with Burn .

Lamptey could be anything but his Hamstring injury will put buyers off until he gets a run of games next season , if he remains fit then he has to be worth 25-30 million so again top work by the recruitment team .

When you look at our squad it seems fine on paper but Wellbeck and Llanna have to be carefully managed and I think we will definitely go for another striker and midfielder with the Bissouma money .

This saved me saying the same thing. You can pay more and still be getting amazing value, as we did with Biss.

Gross has been pretty consistent and excellent value over the time we've had him but outright bargain surely has to be Veltman.

All excellent value in their own way. In terms of minutes on the pitch. Pound for pound has to be Gross.

In terms of value surely has to be Tariq. Because not only is he yet to reach his ceiling we also have an asset who if we have to sell will bring in a tremendous amount of money to the club.

Becoming a bit of a worry for me too, it's been a long time now since his last game. Will be interesting to see how he performs post injury

Too many hamstring related injuries can finish a player, certainly one who relies on explosive pace and power. Wlll Buckley anyone?

Really interesting debate and – as this thread has proved – it depends how you interpret the question.

On a 'cost per use' basis, it's got to be Groß. An outstanding and intelligent footballer who has been on the whole PL journey with the club. The Groß turns are a sight to behold.
The 'most reasonable fee' has to be Veltman. Based on the price alone, matched with what he's achieved this season and how important a player he's become.
Best acquisition? In terms of future value, it's *potentially* Lamptey, but it remains to be seen how he performed post-injury. No doubting his talent – or how exciting he is to watch – so I just hope he makes a full recovery, with no reoccurrence further down the line.

BDB is still great value, but not in the same league as the other three, whichever way you come at it.

Just a shout out for poor old Dan Burn here, as others have mentioned not in the same class as the others being talked about on this thread, but still exceptional value. A bit of a square peg in a round hole at left wing back maybe, but still done very well in what muct have been an alien position for him at first.

Much maligned by many on here, but Potter obviously rates him, so diss him at your peril.
