You’ve had your answer from Bozza and you’ve had a little reprise from me and Bry Nylon.

It’s literally the views of half a dozen halfwits done to get a rise out of, well, mostly, you. And you fall for it day after day.

I genuinely don’t think this place will be doing your mental or physical health any good. To save yourself a trip to the doctor I’d suggest you commit the following information to memory.

What would reflect badly on NSC is unnecessary censorship and the dictatorship of policy by a few non moderator users. It’s Bozza’s ball so it’s his rules and that includes me (in fact I was corrected only the other day and was happy to have been). You will not dictate content and you will not dictate who does and does not use the site. Not today, not tomorrow and not in ten years’ time.

The opposite of that imho.

Take a good look at comeonboro (for example) and you’ll see the mirror image of NSC. A strong anti immigrant theme, racism, nasty views unchallenged, the likes of Trump beatified.

NSC stands out as fairly liberal, but all legal views are welcome.

as you don't list your location i can only surmise you are posting from somewhere like Cranliegh or Steyning ...a quaint little Sussex village with church with a beautiful graveyard with headstones dating back to the 1400's , you catch the bus to Brighton once a fortnight and walk the promenade with your soggy chips , shooing the seagulls and smiling at the myriad souls also partaking of the Sussex air , you may see a sari clad lady and wonder which far off land she has arrived from or marvel at the athletic , glistening bodies of a couple of African lads jogging along the front and wonder the same ......the reality is they are probably on the train down from Wimbledon for the day ......that may or may not be the limit of your cultural exchange , i have no idea as all you do is bang on about poor moderating and what a terrible example NSC is for outsiders who might stray into the bear pit ......get a life sausage ..

A few things...

- I'm repeatedly told NSC is very right wing.
- I'm repeatedly told NSC is very left wing.
- The people who tell me that NSC is very right wing are generally left wing.
- The people who tell me that NSC is very left wing are generally right wing.
- Those who tell me NSC is left wing probably slightly out-number those who tell me NSC is right wing.
- The overall make-up of NSC's moderating team is very definitely left of centre.

- NSC has long had an unspoken rule that stupid people are allowed to say stupid things. This allows others to call them out for being stupid.
- Despite the above, out-of-order comments of many flavours will get those that post them into trouble which can, does and will extend to full site bans.
- NSC receives a lot of traffic and a lot of posts. As I type this NSC is close to 2,000 posts today. It is very likely that many of these posts have not been seen by a moderator. NSC relies on users reporting posts they consider have crossed the line of decency so they can be reviewed by a moderator. Use the "Report Post" button below any offending post.
- Just because a post has been reported, it does not mean anything will happen. Even if something does happen - such as a member being warned - you will have no visibility of this as all warnings remain private between the moderating team and the user concerned.
- Very few posts are reported each day. Many days no posts are reported at all.
- This is supposed to be fun. Please try and have fun here. If you're not having fun here, perhaps consider going somewhere else.

It's not coincidence. Most folk who use t'internet can conduct themselves properly. Or can at least argue without ugliness most of the time. Once the, I guess about 5%, who struggle with this are sidelined they will always be replaced by a multiple more. Yet they will always insist on the right to act in a way that undermines a forum's usefulness. They can always go to Argus Comments (although the Bear Pit has seemingly descended that route as you may well have expected). With the cat away....

I run a FB group with about 1500 members. I don't like moderating/intervening. But in the rare cases I have to intervene it's nearly always the same tiny group of people involved. Some folk just don't get it. It's not about being heavy handed, it's about making a forum that gives everyone the confidence to be a part of it.

If I were you [MENTION=6886]Bozza[/MENTION], I'd wear the accusations as a badge of pride. The BBC get pretty much the same accusations slung at it on a regular basis. Only goes to prove that NSC, like the BBC, must be getting it largely right
