The Battle of Hastings - 14th October 1066 - 950th Anniversary

The current theory, supported by large numbers of historians, is that it took place in Crowhurst. It's not far away but it does mean that the re-enactment is in the wrong place

I'm no historian, but the best case against the Crowhurst theory I heard was put to me in a pub by someone who claimed it's all a conspiracy theory orchestrated by home owners in Crowhurst who didn't want the Hastings-Bexhill link road going near them.

They have not found much evidence at the official battle site.The Marley lane site is the most plausible one.
