BensGrandad said:I agree totally but feel that the club could have placed some microphones nearby so that it could be heard better.
shaolinpunk said:i couldnt really hear them over the fans cheering the teams arrival on pitch
Voroshilov said:One of the problems was they were playing towards the North Stand , rather than the stand most people sit in.

The lucky Oldham fans got a splendid rendition of Colonel Bogey and to their credit joined in with the clapping.
Yorkie said:They played for about 20 minutes before kick off so it was only when the players came on that they couldn't be heard. It was quite nostalgic for me.
Brovian said:A pedant writes... Not true. A jazz band played in front of the West Stand at the Goldstone one Saturday in 1977/8. The drummer was a man called John Muxlow (who used to play with the legendary Harry Strutters Hot Rhythym Orchestra for those with long memories). He's a lifelong Albion fan and he refused to take a fee for appearing as he said the Albion had given him so much pleasure over the years.
Anyway, carry on.
desprateseagull said:so who's paying for the band, as last i heard the club were £££ in debt..
Slade MIMED.smudge said:Slade played in front of the North Stand prior to a game vs Burnley. I think it was around 78-79ish. They were making a video for a new single....which was shit btw.
Barrel of Fun said:My mother heard it quite clearly above the stadium and over the trees. I bet John Catt was quaking in his boots and drafting a letter to B&HCC.
Very good indeed.![]()
