Your kiddin' me ....... you may not particularly be a fan but be reasonable.

Delivering 7th finish within quite significant financial constraints, probably the wage bill has at least quadrupled and we still havent made mid table.

25 Players came through the system and made their 1st team debuts.

Players sold who came through the system:

Virgo £1, 500, 000

Harding £800, 000

Hammond £250, 000

2006:Took youth team to the 6th round of FA Youth Cup, first time in clubs history.

Playing career whilst at BHAFC

1987 - 1996 Brighton & Hove Albion FC.

Total Appearances: 330 + 28 Goals

Promotion 87-88 from old Div. 3 to old Div 2

Captained side to play off final 1990 - 1991 (Wembley Stadium)

I think El Pres just has an agenda against him personally, maybe it's because he stood up to Knight or maybe he just wouldn't sign his autograph book, children can really be affected by these sort of things!!

Could be because his style of football took Withdean crowds to record lows.

I think sadly some on here have enjoyed an association with an authoritative figure within the club and those figures enjoyed the adulation afforded them.

They were all fed morsels of tittle tattle and they enjoyed that, it made both parties feel extremely important.

I think they are disappointed that these association are no longer available, or more likely those that were willing to offer an inner view have already be sidelined by the club.

Maybe El Pres feels his standing within his peer group has diminished as a result of this and somehow blames Wilkins, I really don't know.

That seems the case.

In many ways I don't blame them, but those that found it appropriate to offer views on their own staff to casual fans at various events.

But you can just imagine their excitement at being privy to information even they probably felt they had no right to know.

It gave them a false sense of importance, but were lovin' it and their loyalty was unrelenting.

If they were told Wilkins was a baddin', then Wilkins was a baddin' !!!

Mind you El Pres not acknowledging anything that Wilkins achieved was a little extreme !!!

Hmmm. Interesting, full of speculation and short on fact though, which is par for the course from you.

1) I've met Dick Knight once, at the NSC thankyou gathering, so not sure where you think I get my 'morsels' from. I also live in Manchester, so don't get them from anyone else connected with the club.

2) I don't have a peer group, for the reason that I don't live in or near Brighton.

3); You allege that the wage bill has quadrupled since Wilkins left. I have a set of the Albion accounts, can you point this out to me please, or are you just making up numbers as usual.

4) Why when the discussion was about Wilkins as a manager did you bring up his playing and youth team coaching role? Bobby Charlton was a fantastic England player, but it had nothing to do with his management skills.

Sorry I'm just back from having my bikini line and moustache waxed.

There is no doubt in my mind that if Dean Wilkins was manager we would at WORST be in the Premiership by now, and probably be planning a trip to Hamburg instead of Fulham for the Europa Cup final in a few weeks.

Anyone who disagrees is a retard.

I've said before that our over reliance on the Wilkins babes stopped us from building a mature squad;that developing your own talent is a good thing, but very few make it at any club. For us to be relying on the youth team because it did well in the youth cup was,I felt,a mistake, and in the end probably did few of the players any favours.

But did we have such an overreliance?

The year we finished 7th was when our first choice strikers for the second half of the season were Forster and Murray, and we also had FDM, Butters, Thomson, Westlake, Whing, Mayo and Racon in the team during that period.
