Going to London on 14th for couple of nights, been looking forward to it for ages to get away, whats the betting that we get a couple of flakes of snow and all trains get cancelled. It can snow all it likes when I am up there. :tantrum:

Yep, looks it from the 10 day forecasts.
Bollocks, looks like it could well be a few days in an empty student house for me.

You might be saved. There's just been a massive (bloody typical) back-track in the UKMO & GFS models, both of which show the cold spell fizzling out before it gets started. Apparently one of the lesser models, GEM also has the same outlook, so we may be about to experience another near miss.

Will there be time for the Daily Express to spike its " Arctic Blizzards set to decimate elderly anti-European pensioners " headline ?

BBC London News weather forecast just now; " significant snowfall next week with the first of it arriving on Tuesday".

Fingers crossed!

The BBC's forecast' s are always 6 hours behind the latest models.

matt Hugo on Tw*tter:

One things for sure when the Atlantic comes in it really does. All 51 ECM ENS members bring wet/windy/mild weather to the UK from Sun 16th.
So, it looks like its all over.

All because of a short wave that will develop over Norway which blocks the easterly! Second time it's done that this winter. Oh well maybe next time!

Err, not according to the current BBC seven day outlook on their website it isn't.
