Looks to be some cold and snow possibilities early next week. Into the minus C temperatures.
Ah but although the temperatures will cool down, the anti-cyclone High Pressure will bring the winds and weather from the NE ...usually meaning little precipitation.

Now a 7 C maximum temperature in early January is considered a cold day. We have not had a night time temperature of zero or below for 35 nights and most days were above 10 c. In reality we do not have a season called winter now there is spring, summer, autumn

I hate snow in Brighton, no one can feckin drive properly, keep a steady pace seems so hard for some folks, Elm Grove and our road which runs parallel are murder, the amount of times I have seen cars slide down those roads smashing and bouncing into other cars is mind blowing.

Train for me when the snow comes, either that or hit the coast road where the Salt from the sea helps with the road to work.
Spent an entertaining afternoon a few years ago sat in The Round Georges on Sutherland Road watching idiot drivers trying to come down Evelyn Terrace. Thought a couple of them were actually going to end up coming straight into the pub!

Remember a few (errr ... more than that, been in Uckfield nearly 10 years now) years back watching from the front window of our flat on Hollingbury Road. We were far enough down the hill to have a good view of the junction with Upper Hollingdean Road, where Hollingbury Road is (was?) split by a pedestrian island. Cars needing to shift their road position left as they reached that point (having been more central due to parked cars on the left) with snow on the road invariably caused problems as they slid down the camber and into the gutter.

Don’t ruin the dream this early for the snow lovers. We are like Brighton fans were last season dreaming of the improbable qualification into Europe.
We all know it’s unlikely to happen but sometimes you get to live the dream. Never say never.

Quite a bit of angst on Netweather this morning as the GFS has had a bit of a wobble regarding the Greenland High around the 15th.

What we do know is that from today through to Monday and Tuesday we're going to see colder temperatures here, with an Easterly wind developing.

It will be mainly dry, but there is a low chance of the odd snow shower, more likely in the usual areas exposed to the East.

After that were likely to see a continuation of the dry theme, maybe slightly less cold until the period 14th to 16th where the uncertainty lies.

Could be very cold with a snow risk or could be just chilly and dry.
I've been a regular lurker on TWO every winter since around 2009 / 2010. It's pretty exhausting on the Model Output thread - so many cold rampers, "winter's over" types, wishful thinkers, 'mild trolls' - I can't imagine what it's like on NetWeather which seems far busier! Who to put your faith in as opposed to who to put on ignore!

There seems to be quite a lot of excitement for potential snow on Monday and into Tuesday in the SE corner, with some nice looking precipitation charts, but I can't find much support for it on the BBC, Met Office, phone app etc - a bit of sleet at best. It's definitely going to get pretty chilly though!

To be honest after the mild, wet hell that was December I’d be quite happy with a few cold, clear days even if we don’t get snow

Your signature says Shoreham by Sea? Given I'm also in Shoreham by Sea and its blazing sunshine and freezing cold, I'm assuming there is another Shoreham by Sea somewhere? :ROFLMAO:
