It's coming!

(It's not, is it?)

Freezing arctic weather to smash UK in just 24 hours >>> https://www.express.co.uk/news/weat...t-met-office-weather-snow-warning-rain-floods

Hhmm... nothing yet.... but there is lots of potential in the data at the moment.

There is a strong signal for northern blocking from about 10 day's time. The air to our East isn't quite cold enough yet (in most scenario) for widespread snow, but the pattern is very interesting, as such blocking signals can persist and recur throughout the winter.

Wasn't a lot? That would bring Brighton to a halt. Schools would close, panic buying, Armageddon! I see your Nasturtiums are still flowering well!!

Did you spot my pet magpie though?

I didn't but he looks lovely sitting there on his perch. I did spot your stick-insect in the foreground.

Record low temperatures are hitting New York and large parts of the East Coast of the USA. Buffalo, in upstate New York, had 9" of snow breaking a 77 year old record. Some of the ski resorts in New York and Pennsylvania will open a few weeks early due to the conditions

It's feeling very much like it's going to be a very cold and long winter look at the number of berries on bushes a sure sign
