Papa sent me a forecast via PM earlier today, he thinks the same as you, snow is most likely between Thursday & Saturday.

It's currently looking like this:

3 to 4 day cold spell (it's bitter out this morning), with a snow / sleet / rain event on Friday (it's a bit messy, as there is a warm sector involved, so there will almost certainly be some rain in the mix).

The intersting part come later on, with 3 of the big models going for the establishment of a large Scandinavian to Siberian block into early Feb. This could give us some very cold weather again were it to happen. Such a spell could be quite lengthy also.

It's looking more like sleet on Friday than snow, although there may be snow as the feature moves off into the channel. After that is still very hard to call, with the very cold stuff shown yesterday now not so certain across the models.
