Can anyone translate from Papa Lazarou language to English?

Bad low going to France, taking warm air with it. Snow likely here, at least to start with. Funny things going on in the atmosphere may help to make weather cold. Brrrr.

BBC forecast has it snowing here Friday into Saturday. In the midlands it will be even heavier putting Saturday's game in jeopardy.

Yes. The models still support snow at least initially down here. There's no sign that the weather will clear in the Midlands in time.

Actually, that's not entirely true, in the whole slew of data out there there are still outcomes that either bring little snow to the midlands or end it on Friday, so still some hope for people with advanced train tickets.

BBC (shite I know) is suggesting snow for North Sussex Friday, Saturday and now Sunday, does that mean it will be rain instead?

Possible light snow here but could be sleet/rain near the coast. 1/2 inch tops in some places on Friday but a dumping further North around 9 inches.

Clear skies overnight (its a stunning morning, sunny blue skies over a snowy lanscape) dropped temps to -12. Currently only -10 on the garden thermometer.

3rd day of snow here close to the north Norfolk coast. About 75mm in total so far. Local news reporting that 250 schools are closed today. Looking at the forecast the South West and South East are due to cop it in the next 48 hours.

Might be problem for the Albion game at Brum too?

The most recent Met Regional forecast (admittedly for London and SE):

Headline:Mostly dry but remaining cold. Some snow showers over Kent.

Today:Wintry showers may reach English Channel coasts, but are most likely across east Kent. Otherwise dry inland with patchy freezing fog clearing slowly and sunny spells developing for most places, but it will still feel cold. Maximum Temperature 3 °C.

Tonight:Very cold with good clear spells and a severe frost returning. Mainly dry, but some snow showers are still likely over Kent. Minimum Temperature -6 °C.

Thursday:Remaining cold with some sunny spells, although cloud tending to increase later. Most places dry, but a few snow showers are still possible over Kent. Maximum Temperature 3 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:Remaining cold. A bitter wind developing by Friday with some snow spreading northeast later later. Further snow is expected at times on Saturday but turning to rain on Sunday.

I'm going skiing on Saturday. Please tell me that snowfall here is not going to stop my flight. I'm not sure I could live with that irony.

so downgrading the chances of the 24 hour period of snow suggested yesterday?

Drat.

The Met outlooks are never worded in an exciting way.. that doesn't suggest we're NOT going to get snow from Fri - Sat, does it?

The most recent Met Regional forecast (admittedly for London and SE):

Papa,

The wife is going to Brussels this morning and coming back (Eurostar) on Friday about 6 p.m, is there likely to be disruptive snow around then please.

Cheers

thats we we employ you Papa!!, to give us the information, those charts yesterday "suggested" constant snow for most of Friday into Saturday, it appears thats changing slightly if you look at ther wording above, but as you say they have to protect themselves somewhere, lets hope we do get some of the white stuff, ebnuoght o at least make a snow man and post the picture on here, this threads deserves it!!
