We need to get to Brazil first.

Tough qualifiers to come, and nothing is guaranteed.

Not just being flippant, England look, dare I say, classy under the guidance of Roy and we will therefore win the next World Cup in Brazil.

So - we have to remember this thread and bounce it in 2014 when we go out in the quarter finals :)

Another deluded person. It's sad.
Moldova had 'us' on the back foot & that useless bunch of fools were ab so lutely clueless.
CAPTAIN Gerrard watched it happen - no way he should captain England.

Wellbeck Lescott Cleverly....wearing England shirts? really??

I have never said England were looking like they might win a tournament, coming into it. Stop making things up.

Can't we just enjoy it when it comes round? We won't be the best, we won't be the worst. We should aim for Quarters and be delighted with anything beyond that.

Here's what I think, Herr Tubthumper - feel free to ignore what I actually say, as per.

We keep giving the ball away. If we stop doing that, then we will do well....I do think however the future is looking very promising

We always "keep giving the ball away", its in our footballing genes. We'll get to the quarter finals at best (although I may need to revise that assessment after our second half performance last night). Brazil, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Portugal and Argentina will join us and accelerate smoothly away. If Argentina can get their act together they have the potential to be winners.

Genuinely believe that we could see African winners for the first time. Ivory Coast seem to be breeding them specially at the moment.

Ivory Coast can't even win the Africa Cup of Nations - even with the so-called golden generation with Drogba et al. It'll come some day of course, but I think it's a long way off yet. Probably before England next win it though!

Hope springs eternal for the op obviously. Getting out of our group, assuming we get there, is likely to be the highlight for England fans in Rio.

Keep playing like we have in the last two games and I'll enjoy the WC regardless of how far we get. Best football I've seen England play for decades. Getting beaten is not a problem for me, as long as the players look like they care and we try and play decent football.

Belgium are my dark horses to become the next big power in Europe. I mean, seriously, their squad is utter utter class.

I had a couple of quid on Belgium to win the world cup at 33/1 about 18 months ago. Wish I had more. I don't expect them to win it but expect at least quarter finals and then maybe lay the bet off.

More or less this.

We played well yesterday. Especially the first half. But, as has been mentioned, we did still give the ball away at times and Poland had a few VERY good chances. QFs at best I reckon.

However, enjoyed seeing England players trying things and playing with what looked like some confidence. Great to see.
