The only Aussie who will have any credit from this series is Hussey, Ponting is toast.

Wunderbar score - we must bat on and on tomorrow, let Broad and Swann have a go if they want - top 600 and then tee off with two days to go.

I can't believe I will be at the MCG on Boxing Day and we might well have already retained the Ashes!

Time and rain may come to the Aussies rescue. We'll need to be 300 or so ahead if we want to force a win but need to get there quickly. Wickets in hand, so possible, but rain showers forecast for Day 4 & 5. Australian batting can't be as bad again (can it) so might leave us a day and a half to bowl them out and chase down any total set. Seems unlikely at the moment unless the pitch starts to turn. Very interesting and most enjoyable.

North got a few to turn, there was some interesting puffs of smoke coming off the surface later in the day as well

I've only seen the first hours play of the last two nights, so I'll take your word for it. I did see the ball go throiugh the top once early on last night, but that was short of a length. Would love to see him spin them out in the 2nd innings, but I feel the quicks are going to do it if anyone. Would love for Jimmy to get a five-fer.

An Australian defeat... turned into a pop at the English (last para). Brilliant.

"At least, the Qataris have been given 12 years to get things right. As for the returning Australians, they can reflect that it took three attempts to win the second Olympic Games in the nation's history, and that things could have been worse. They could have brought a prince, a prime minister and one of the game's best players to Zurich to be given the unbelievably bad news. Just as the English did."

Australia could manage one out of three I suppose. Even a pop at the English backfired

It's difficult to tell really, sometimes you see these things breaking off the surface or massive cracks but still nothing happens. The commentators were saying it might turn, but I can't remember which one it was. If it was Warne then it might mean something, but if it was beefy it's probably an indication that it won't

Swann was getting abit of turn on Day One so chances are he will continue to get turn at the end of Day Three or into Day Four, what we really need is KP to get to his Ton then go 20/20 style and smash it all ove the place....same with Prior later when he comes in. That way we get a big lead quickly so more time to bowl them out should the rain showers hinder play on days four & five.

Had my Sky package switched off today and doubt will have it again this year, so its TMS from now on and a live feed so not the end of the world.
