Does that temporary stand come down at the end of this match ? I went to OT a couple of times last year and that side looked like a building site. I agree the completed OT is an attractive ground but not with a big hole on one side.
Not with the heaving masses expected to show up for The Hundred which starts (rather too) soon

Bowl then out for 200 was never the gameplan on this pitch. No, the plan is simply to get the first innings out of the way as quickly as possible, the number of runs doesn't really matter. Would have been nice to have finished them off late yesterday, but not a bad day. Pretty sure Stokes will want to be bowling again tonight if the forecast stays bad
Well it was the gameplan according to our captain, after winning the toss yesterday. He actually said...." bowl them out for 200..... first innings lead....have another go at them "
If he actually meant....' in the 200's '.....then fair enough, it nearly went to plan. But I took it fairly literally and that he wanted a 100-150 run lead, after bowling them out for around 200.

Supposedly they don't have a permanent stand there due to the concerts and events that go on at the ground. Whether that's true, I don't know but it seems to explain why.

Several batters getting in and nobody making a big score suggests they are under par, unless the tail wags significantly.
I would suggest that the Aussies will be pretty happy with that. Its unlikely we will carve out a decent first innings lead. We would have to get 450 in four sessions and then try to bowl them out before the rains arrive.
Be mightily surprised if the series is still alive going into the 5th Test. We left ourselves too much to do after the mistakes in Tests 1/2. It was reliant on decent weather, no Aussie batsman getting a big score or a bowler suddenly catching fire. We also had to win the tosses, catch all our catches, field brilliantly and have a lot of luck.
Too much to hope going our way.

That no ball could prove to be really f***ing annoying. Any time out of the game is really, really unhelpful for us at this point in time.

Especially as it wasn’t a no ball 😡🤬 Think Spurs away.
Yeah just seen it, looks harsh to me.

What's the rule? All of the foot over all of the line is no ball?

Ah fair enough. It was incredibly tight, but I don't think you could say with any certainty that any of the foot was behind the line.

England shouldn’t try and go too hard too soon, not going to do them any good to be 15-3 at drinks
