One of the commentators, Mark Butcher I think, said that last Saturdays Finals Day had rain predicted all day and they played 3 games of 20/20. There's still hope, although that's what kills you innit?

I got it completely wrong or did the metoffice update as I was posting? I looked 5 minutes later and plenty of okay weather on Sunday. Fingers crossed.

It is a strange thing on a Friday evening, to be completely disregarding Saturday. Every weather outlet predicting a month’s rain for the Manchester conurbation.

It will be a travesty if the Aussies hold on to the Ashes due to that cheating unsportsmanlike dismisal in the 2nd Test and a 2 day washout to avoid defeat in this game.
Just wondering if a whole day is cancelled due to the weather, why cant they just add an extra day on Monday to make up for it?

I honestly believe that Accuweather create contrary forecasts for the sake of it.

Although I hope they are right this time.

If we hadn't dropped so many catches in the first two tests, we'd be home and dry (!) by now - so I suppose we can't really blame the weather for everything.

On the exchanges England victory is the shortest.it's been apart for about 10 minutes before.Crawley was out.

My that metric the decision to bat on after lunch is well justified.

Plus it was great fun.

I guess that’s why Stokes and McCullum are in charge and not us armchair experts. I have also given up wondering about teams picked by RDZ. Easier to go with the flow and enjoy the outcome.

I took the draw at evens earlier having looked at the forecast. Seems to have gotten even worse for Sunday since. For once I feel OK about betting against ‘my side’ as I’m effectively just betting on it raining in Manchester which seems a pretty solid way to make money. Would be very happy to lose my money though!
