All these comments, many of which I do agree with by the way, and England will probably win :lolol:

The thing is we aren’t out of this match even if they get 450, yes it’s unlikely but having thought about it with how quick we score we could get those runs pretty quick

Obviously unlikely, but possible.

This. Could very easily have been 250 all out. We’ll need to knock them over quickly and bat well but not out of this yet.
Another 45 minutes of Australia batting without losing a wicket and we are out of it.

It’s an old boys club (a bit like a certain report released this week suggests).
Bairstow should not have the gloves.
Anderson is no longer the world class bowler he once was.
Stokes is doing a cricket version of Harry Kane, he’s clearly not 100%

The average age of this side is over 30.

It was a massive mistake to declare on 390, cost England at worse a draw. What worried me more was Stoke’s Gladiator style “are you not entertained?” speech, err this is the ashes, it’s about winning, end of.

Yesterday bowling first was understandable, not selecting a specialist spinner was scandalous, going out with what appeared to be a ‘just turn up’ attitude was not good enough, the buck stops with Stokes for that.

I also agree with a previous poster that Lords should not be an Ashes venue.
But, other than that, you're happy ?😉

They have been since 1989, bar a brief but wonderful period when we had a brilliant team.

Cliches, but Aussie tunnel vision to not throw away a wicket, better fielding, making every ball in hand count. A sports obsessed country, winning is everything, second is nowhere.
You missed that they all spend their summers playing cricket in their big suburban gardens.

Just a little note about today's play.

Last year I lost suddenly my brother to cancer during the Lords Test. I was beside myself with grief. All that changed when I saw what kids were going through when they lose a parent in that way. I realised the struggles that they have in processing grief were so much larger than mine. I made a donation to the Ruth Strauss foundation that day.

They do great work, and for all the joy bat 'n ball gives up, it's worth a donation once a year if you can spare it.

The text thingy will come up today during play.

Text TWENTY to 70600 if you are able to help.

11.05 and still no ball bowled, with overs to make up from yesterday, bizzare. Everything seems to take an age to get on with in test cricket at times.

How on earth is the umpire not giving that!?

Furious if that had been umpires call. Finally something goes our way.

Was just about to say Anderson is absolutely PAST IT and should be wearing his slippers not his cricket spikes…. Nicks off Starc

England are going to be 35-3 though I will confidently predict.
You do have to feel that if England take these 5 wickets quickly, as they have started to do, Aus will do just the same against our top order.
