One other important tip: they only serve low alcohol beer (unless in the posh seats). If you drink a lot of it, all it will do is make you need the loo a lot. I had to recalibrate my typical cricket going experience and save the drinking for the evening

Time for a :bounce:

Thanks already to @Change at Barnham for his invaluable help

Has anyone else got any tips as we plan to cross off #1 from our Bucket List ?

Top tip. Don't go, going to cost a fortune and you are going to watch us get stuffed. Try a Windies tour, still expensive but at least we should win some.

When in Sydney. It's good to take a look outwith otherwise it's just another city.

Katoomba is a two hour train journey from Central Station. There you can see the Blue Mountains. Not quite outback, but almost. Look it up and make an afternoon free.

Don't go to Canberra, unless it's just an afternoon trip to see the embassies. Tis rather dull.

Forget Bondi Beach. There is little endearing about it. I'm told Manly Beach is nice. I suspect @Guinness Boy will know more on that one.

I lived in Sydney for four months and played cricket in the western suburbs

Agree, when in Melbourne get yourself as far down the Great Ocean Road as you can. Hire a car and drive it if you can afford it.

Strangely, I never saw Melbourne. Whether I missed a lot I don't know. I've seen cricket in Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney.

A full MCG is a sight to behold.

Melbourne is a brilliant city too (I am biased clearly) not as stunningly beautiful as Sydney but enjoys a little more depth 😄.

This. Drove the GOR in October, fantastic part of the trip. Toured much of Oz apart from WA, Sydney was probably the least impressive part……….Absolutely loved Brisbane and Adelaide though. Also, didn’t find it that expensive - hotels/meals/drinks a bit below what we’re used to here.
