Well, Elizabeth (as an Archer) and the kids will stay in Ambridge for that long, presumably, so there will be family repercussions. And the impact on practices at, or perhaps even ownership of, Lower Loxley could have major ramifications throughout the village.

And don't forget the guilt ("are you a man or a mouse") of David ... as if Elizabeth and David don't already have enough reasons to argue. The family could be ripped apart over this one.
