Jim was awful as team leader last night, he's turned from hero to villain in a matter of a couple of weeks and surely has no chance now.

I agree his chance appears to have gone but I don't believe he was as bad as the reaction from the "You're Fired" audience made out. More than anyone else he's aware that he's an individual in a contest where there's only one winner, and he's an expert at exposing individuals in the boardroom. The problem for him is that he's only got 2 wins and the weak candidates are being weeded out. He might get away with it against the likes of Glenn but trying to convice Sugar that 7-time perennial winner Helen wasn't pulling her weight ain't gonna work.

Agree to some extent Pav but Jim got personal last night and that's always going to piss some people off. He didn't need to come out with all that Bambi stuff at Susan. Yes, he was under pressure and came out fighting but as a result has lost a lot of public support. I actually think Sugar still quite likes him, with all his chat etc but Nick clearly doesn't.

But I think what will probably do for him is how he completely failed to realise that he had to negotiate in that first pitch which is just unbelievably poor. I'm not a businessman but know to get anything done you have to strike up a rapport, listen to what the other person says and do deals. All basic stuff. I think that failure is largely why he's now vulnerable. That and the fact he inexplicably went with the worse name in magazine history. All good fun though.

Does anyone else do 'the Abridged Apprentice' where you only watch the last 15 minutes of each weekly show? Over an entire series it saves you hours of wasted time watching that tired old Apprentice formula and frees you up to watch hours of tired old episodes of Road Wars, Customs UK or Dog Squad.

Jim should definitely have gone but ultimately Sir Alan recognises that he is a good salesman. A despicable person yes, but also a good salesman. Not saying they go hand in hand but with Jim they do !!

cant agree with that, a good salesman would surely have done more to try and make a deal with the firm that ultimately cost his team the task, his inability to take a hint and start negotiating was very poor.

It's strange how watching these shows you tend to think it matters what his colleagues and the public think. We're so used to audience voting via phone-ins and seeing that audience reaction on You're Fired, the sea of green signs for Glenn and Jim as the backmarker in the "Runners and Riders" makes you feel it's completely all over for him.

In all likelihood it is, yet the decision is purely down to Sir Alan. He'd be the first to admit business is dog eat dog, and no one personifies that better than Jim in the boardroom. Jim may be on his knees, yet I still think he's got a better chance of winning that Leon, Natasha, Susie and Zoe.

Susie has been one of the favourites for the chop for a while now, but she has properly come out fighting in the board room. And while she has a whiny persona, it must be said that her complaints of being ignored and overlooked have certainly gained momentum because where she has questioned things, she has often been proved right. The magazine title this week, and in the recycling episode, she correctly called the fact that they were uncompetitive because they could make money from the clearance stock they were offering to take away, and there have been other examples.

The problem with Susie is that the message is never delivered with conviction. It's always said in a "throw it out there" suggestive way (often after the event). A classic example was last week's scrap task where her suggestion of paying the customer for clearing the site and then taking away the good stuff was said in almost a "have I got this right, guys" manner.

Watching it at the time I don't believe she had a firm grasp on the commerciality of the task, and the way both girls looked at each other and said "are we singing from the same hymn sheet" before ridiculing her showed the problem in how Susie fails to communicate effectively.
