They're amazing.........if you don't boil the shit out of them!

I usually quarter them and fry them in a really hot pan for a couple of minutes. As soon as they turn a more vibrant green they're done

How long in boiling water before putting them in with the butter and bacon?

Yes lots and lots of them. The dog will be busy most of the afternoon getting blamed for all manner of outbursts I'm sure!

Halved, blanched then fried in butter to caremalise and served with a good pinch of sea salt and dried chilli flakes. Delicious - I even have this with pasta and pesto occasionally (quarter the sprouts rather than halve them, though).

We have a family tradition. Sprounders.

1. Buy sprouts on a stick
2. Take the sprouts off to use as a ball
3. Use the stick as a baseball type bat
4. Luzz the sprouts and smash them with the bat.
