We have had some momentous games in our history with varied outcomes but do our historically records in 'must win' games fill you with confidence or dread?

We're in such a great position to be one win away from the premier league but our performances in recent play off encounters leaves me a bag of nerves.

50/50 really isn't it? We got the result we needed in the biggest league game that we'll ever play, and we've had success and failure in equal measures in play off games.

The Brown Envelope game at home against Chesterfield was another biggie that we won 1-0.

The list I'd like to see is one for the last day of the season where we've needed a result, e.g. Hereford, Forest etc. I think our record there would be pretty decent.

The three I can remember - Hereford, Forest and Ipswich - all involved us getting the result we needed but coming from behind to get it. We don't do it the easy way.....

I was thinking the same so add to that Bristol Rovers in 1988 when we needed to win and Ipswich in 1991 when we needed to win to make the play offs.

Also Watford in 1958? Was that the last game?

And Grimsby away when we needed to win and drew to go down?

We were also relying on Stoke losing... so maybe we can get away with not including that one.

Don't think we can dismiss that for that reason.

If the measure is we needed a result, did we get it, then I think it's in the list.

Past performances mean nothing. I have every confidence in this team - they have the spirit and talent to get the job done.

i think we have a talented team here....barring refereeing anomalies or comedy defensive capers i would be expecting a close game , we have to use attack as our best defence though.....if we sit back we will struggle.

81.82

81/82 was our highest league finish to date
82/83 seem to recall we were down before the final game

Believe tomorrow is more akin to a cup replay away although there is the play off safety net
