IMHO

1. Mayfair's designs are better than the current badge

2. Mayfair's designs are not perfect

3. The club should always listen to/look at fans' opinions and suggestions for a re- designed badge.

4. Just because a fan has designed it, it doesn't automatically make it better than something which the club's own designers might come up with. Much as most of us may seem to like Mayfair's designs, the club's own people might produce something that more of us like. Who knows?

5. Whoever designs what, the fans should be given the option to vote for their choice - and that means all fans, not just NSC.

With regards to point 4, i'm sure the club's own people with design something decent, but why not put them to a vote against Mayfair's ideas? That leads into point 5, yes it should be a poll run in the Argus, matchday programme, NSC, wherever is deemed most far reaching for fans to vote.

My fear is that the Club will come out and say 'this is our new badge' (which they've done every time before) without any consultation. From a marketing point of view, wouldn't it be best to go with the most popular design and then sell more merchandise as a result?

I agree entirely.

My point was that the club's own design ideas shouldn't automatically be ruled out as inferior just because a fan has suggested something...and vice versa.

The club has the ultimate right to choose but I would like to see them put their two or three preferences to a fans vote.

Agreed.

To move this forward really needs the buy-in of someone with close links to the Club. For a start, can this thread be made a 'sticky'??

A fan-led initiative (backed by the Argus/fanzines, etc) will only carry so much weight. If it has the buy-in from the Club and can become an official poll then I'll feel we're getting somewhere.
