I thought about that. Really I'm just testing an assumption on that thread (and hopefully giving PB some confirmation of its relative popularity).

The other thread is dying a bit now. If I'd thought to add the poll last night I would have added it to that thread but I was three Harvey's to the good and mainly concerned with who will play right back this season

I have voted "NO" because of the LFT.

I have had both my vaccinations ( Pfizer) in France but still had to do the LFT yesterday as my certification hasn't been approved yet between the UK and Europe. Having for the first time done this LFT test , it is so open to abuse it just isn't worth it as far I am concerned. There is no proof whatsoever you have actually taken the test.

I did still wear a face mask at the footie and took other precautions.

LFT is too easy to fake if you just want to go to the game.

Result = check will have minimal impact and there will still be plenty in the ground who are infectious.

For this reason, I’ve voted NO

I'd be very surprised if even 10% of fans would do this.

This sort of misses the point though. It’s not that people would take the test and then go anyway - if they are going to go regardless, they wouldn’t bother taking the test. It’s the fact a lot won’t even bother taking the test, just scan the QR code and verify.

I think you’d be surprised how many of those “special kind of wankers” exist, though.

People will be in the ground with covid given current infection rates in Brighton. That’s a statistical certainty.

But if you’ve had 2 jabs and got it at the game, then you chances of severe illness are massively reduced, as is you contagious period etc. There’s more than just spread at stake for allowing mass gatherings.

A few will fake a test result
Some in the ground will have Covid
The vast majority are already double-jabbed (or tested negative) so it doesn't actually matter that much if a few are sufficiently cvntish to deliberately circumvent the requirement - for that reason, the check is absolutely a good idea at the moment to make sure the relative % inside the ground are jabbed.

Once 90%+ of the population have been double jabbed and assuming hospitalisations are falling/low, then I'm not sure it'll need to be continued. The irony is the unjabbed/untested circumventing the checks are mostly risking their own health, not the rest of us.

The LFT is designed to capture those non vaccinated fans who are asymptomatic ie they don’t know they have Covid but they are indifferent to their greater risk of transmitting the disease. It’s all about probability. The problem is the ease of fraud.

Eldest went to the pub for the Ukraine v England game, result was all 4 of them caught Covid with one hospitalised.

Oh and Mum and Dad had to bail him out financially as not paid sick pay.

In favour but have suspicions that view may change after Watford, when can see a lot of supporters turning up too late and getting twitchy outside. It would be a lot better if the club could quickly obtain the technology to link the Covid pass to the season ticket by online submission before the first home game. Fans who have submitted and had confirmation of link would be allowed to progress in as normal, those who chance it are sent to the back of the queue. Alternative would be to do the Covid check as fans enter the concourse (could even do the security then as well), which would give a much longer timespan to complete. I cant come to Watford game and am not too sorry as the chaos ensues; hopefully better for Everton game.

The covid pass check made no difference to stadium access speed. The slow up was the metal detecting. Why can't the club have these:

Voted yes, not completely clear cut. Given my age I continue to await my 2nd jab later this week; so will have to do a LFT for Watford, which is a faff..
