I hadn't realised that you could be so prosaic.I remember watching the Cream Cracker Under the Settee when I was really quite young… it had a lasting and profound effect on me…
Akin to sitting with my grandad in a dilapidated Victorian bandstand in a park somewhere in Sheffield, sheltering from an April shower… folding little pieces of paper into boats, ready to set sail down the brook behind the hedge strewn with discarded tins of beer, some losing their lustre after years of lying prone within the leaf litter and other assorted detritus… perhaps blown by the cold wind of post industrial slump, perhaps not… perhaps thrown by a drunken youth in an impotent show of rage… perhaps not…
