END OF SEASON LAP OF HONOUR

This week's Albion Roar is the last of the season - and what a season it's been! The best any of us can remember for a long time. Full of great memories, hair-pulling agony, misery (looking at you Marcus Hancocks) and heart-wrecking joy. The headline is... WE DID IT!

And we still get to laugh at Leeds United.

Thank you to everyone who has been on the Roar over the past nine months. Thank you to everyone who has listened in, commented, moaned, whined and complimented us. We're glad you at least listen in!

Thanks to everyone at Radio Reverb for giving us the space and editorial freedom to say what we want and play what we want. And for helping us out with things go wrong...

Thanks to 'the band' (i.e. Marcus Hancocks and Andy Bass) for stepping in when no-one else could come in. Much appreciated.

Thanks to my partner-in-crime for manning the mics, holding the show together, while tripping over the impossible team names Uncle Phil sends him - Ady Packham. Fine work, Sir.

But most of all thanks to our good friends and sponsor - oldfootballshirts.com - who allow us to be on air, lest Reverb take us off for not paying our subs. To Superphil and his brother Mark Shelley (ably kept in line by Louise Shelley) - you have our eternal thanks. Blame them, folks - they keep encouraging us, and we keep obliging...

So we're finishing off the season with a competition. To have a chance of winning a fine Art Of Football Anthony Knockaert print T-shirts, listen in to the week's show.

We may well have the occasional show to bring you during the summer, but failing that, we're back in late July / early August, when we'll be broadcasting stuff about a brand new Premier League team.

Happy days.

Cheers, Al

Just finished listening to last podcast of the season - a MASSIVE WEDNESDAY-LIKE thank you to the Roar team for 'massaging', 'tickling' etc our ears each week, the show is brilliant and ESSENTIAL listening for every seagulls fan. Quality production, well done and can't wait for the Premier League shows to start in August!! Enjoy the summer guys and gals!

Really enjoyed the last show, nice one

Turns out show sponsors can't enter the competition, good luck to all that enter, a cracking prize awaits you.

Echo all that ..particularly liked the last few shows ..the only 'dent' in their reputation being their failure to remember any recent goal by our left back :moo:

Most kind chaps. Glad you enjoyed them.

We've recorded a one-off summer special podcast with Chris Hammans, coach of the Brighton & Hove Albion Powerchair Football team (BHAPFC), and long-time player Seb Finch.

We covered all things Powerchair footy, including the history of the Albion team, the quality of the side, the rules of the game, and England's chances at the World Cup this week.

Available on podcast at www.albionroar.co.uk and on iTunes.

We are back this weekend with a podcast-only show as Saturday is being given over to Brighton Pride on Radio Reverb 97.2FM. Andy Bass and Marcus Hancocks join Ady & Al to discuss all things Albion - the close, the season coming up, plus we pay tribute to our good friend Ed Bassford.

ADVANCE HEADS UP...

The first radio show of the season will be live on Saturday 12 August at 8.00am. Yup, we're mounting an early morning raid on the Reverb hutch at the Open Market for a live two-hour Roar with myriad guests from ex-players, guests and other undesirables. So you can listen live while hiding under your duvet / getting dripping fried eggs out off your pyjamas / disappearing from the house of the flexible lass you pulled the night before.*

PS - We've only got three mics in the studio.

True. I did make that point on the show, to be fair. You may have to tell all, in the most salacious detail (not the Sandra Dee / Danny Zuko saccharine way) about this conquest.

Not on air, though.

Just a reminder that we're on air at 8am tomorrow on 97.2FM in Brighton & Hove, online at www.radioreverb.com and on DAB+.

Lots of people, lots of fun. And you don't even have to get out of bed this time.

Really enjoying this so far, first time I've really listened to a show in its entirety bar one little gripe - it would be nice if we could get to hear the last captain to get Brighton promoted to the Premier League finish a story rather than have him keep getting interrupted by one of the presenters who clearly loves the sound of his own voice too much

We'll take criticism of the show in whatever form - some of it will be relevant, some not - but preferably with an element of reality, not fabrication, to it. I let Horton finish his stories before asking the next question.

And no, I don't 'like the sound of my voice too much' - but well done for thinking you've earned the right to speak for what I'm thinking. Face it, it's not the first time you've done it.
