So is the Orange shirt going to be on sale for Christmas? Why wouldn't the head of marketing answer that question?

On The Albion Roar this week (25 October), we have in the studio football economist, Albion fan and Our Man In The Northwest, Kieran Maguire (aka El Presidente). He'll be giving his views on the Price of Football survey, the notion of fan involvement at board level, and a match report from Huddersfield. Kieran evidently knows how to have a good time.

We also have Dan Tester, author of a new book 'Brighton & Hove On This Day', which he'll be signing copies of on the night before at The Eagle, Gloucester Road, Brighton from 5pm til 8pm.

We're live on air on Satuday 25 October at 12pm - with the show being repeated on Monday 27 October at 9am - on Radio Reverb 97.2FM, online at www.radioreverb.com, or if you've missed the show, you can download the podcast via iTunes or at www.albionroar.co.uk

BTW - The Cyclist pub in Brighton Station is holding its first Oktoberfest this week from 23rd to 26th October.

On Saturday evening, once you've had a couple of ales at the Amex, and got the train back into town after the inevitable draw with Rotherham, Albion fans can go along to the pub, and sample any one, two or more of the following...

1) Longman Brewery: Golden Tipple 5.0%
2) Weltons Brewery: Churchillian
3) Founder's Best Bitter (4.2abv)
4) Kissingate Brewery – Chennai premium ipa
5) Turners APA
6) Downlands Brewery APA
7) Firebird Brewery – Fireweisse, Weissbier – 5%

Better still, The Cyclist is offering 10% off to Albion fans. All they say you have to do is flash them your season ticket when buying your beer.

The Cyclist say the offer is good for Saturday 25th after the game, for the ales specifically in for the Oktoberfest, while stocks last.

That sounds like a triumph of marketing and branding. Having spent four months doing a project in Chennai I can confirm that the locals can't make two batches of their "local" beer the same. Even the Kingfisher came in "ok" "pretty terrible" and "awful" batches a bit like a ropey supermarket Beaujolais. Good offer though

The Chennai IPA was on sale in the Prince Albert too. Not bad. We had a nice time at the Cyclist after the game; quite busy it was, especially for a pub in a railway station. The Fireweisse (brewed near Horsham) was very palatable, as was the Golden Tipple.

Anyhoo, this week's show is up as a podcast now. Dan Tester talks about his new book, and we're giving away a signed copy of it on the show (competition closes Thursday 30th October) and Kieran Maguire gives us a match report from Huddersfield, together with a somewhat dystopian view for the future of English football.

Enjoy. :)

This week (8 Nov), we have Paul Beirne, the Albion's Head of Commercial Development in the studio.

Any questions for him, fire away...

What areas of the club do you consider HAVEN'T been monetised to the maximum yet?

Things I'd already forgotten about this season, #29:-

- Bruno playing really well in midfield.

Completely passed me by until TLO mentioned it listening to last weeks Roar, last night.

(actually this might be worthy of it's own thread).

Where is there no bookies at The Amex?
Surely there's space somewhere on the concourses.

Tony Bloom answered that one when he was on three years ago, and if anyone would know about the business of gambling, he would. Without listening back, I seem to recall that the numbers didn't stack up, especially as many, if not most, do their gambling online.

The fact that gambling kiosks were built, then immediately converted to Pies & Pints kiosks before the stadium opened say something, I'm sure.

At the risk of repeating myself:-

Would you ask him to have another look at making a digital version of the programme available again please? This was done for a couple of seasons, but then removed as it made a loss (according to Insider on Ask The Club). However, I have seen a number of clubs offer this service (even offering a single match option). And it is bloody annoying seeing multiple articles on the official website "promoting" articles in that week's programme, when I can't actually buy it.
