I think the annoying noise was Alan's (Large Al) coughing, he has a habit of clearing his throat to often.

Trying to edit it out later would take hours

Was that the noise?

The short interview with Ken Brown is revealing - he alludes to some of the problems there have been in negotiating access to the Falmer site with the University of Brighton. This factor may well be the main reason behind the delay in getting the stadium finished.

Far too predictable a gag Alan, no there was like a beep every 60 seconds or so, might have been the radio in Ferret's 'hairdresser' car, but for a technogeek like him I doubt it.
