Do explain why it's drivel?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people and their entrepreneurial skills, but I'm struggling to see how this is any different to the club trying to make a buck out of the fans with the one off shirt or the paving stones, both of which people have claimed to be a rip off.

Try doing some reading. History i would be a good starting point. The Chairman single handidly puts in £101m and you think we are being ripped off with merchandise nobody has to buy and artwork of unique standing? well done, really well done.

For ten quid, you got to contribute to a piece of artwork done by the fans for the fans - no club interference. For that you get your own sense of contributing (not a tangible consideration admittedly), an 840 x 420mm high quality print, and the knowledge the some of your input went towards a £700+ contribution to REMF.

To me, it's the difference between feeling what £10 for a print and a charity contribution gets you and what £50 for a shirt, or £99 for a piece of paving gets you.

Think you should probably read what I've put. I don't think anyone is being ripped off for anything in fact I've applauded the "making hay whilst the sunshine attitude".

I'm just pointing out that people on this board have slated the club for trying to make a quick buck by producing a one off shirt and the 100 bob paving slabs when this mosaic which couldn't have cost more than £500 to produce yet has raked in a damn site more than that has been openly wanked over.

Personally I'd rather line the clubs pocket than Dave and Steve's.

With that, i reply no more. nothing personal.

Does anyone really have a problem with the guys who thought of, and delivered, this piece of art (work) making a few quid? it's got Wardy and thousands of fan pictures celebrating our homecoming. It looks great and i'm sure the work involved, and whatever short term gain (if any), is completely outweighed by the pride of having the f***ing thing hanging in the supporters bar. f***ing good on yer fellas for taking the f***ing initiative and doing something constructive. If you can't see the f***ing positive in this then you really do need to...

And this is interesting to everyone else (who thinks it great) how? This isn't the first time I've read you being deliberately contrary or indeed slagging off the hard work of someone else. You come across as a fairly unpleasant person really.

I'm just pointing out that the people who have done it have done it to make an easy buck (which there is nothing wrong with) however Mr Bloom how has paid for the f***ing ground is getting slated because he dares to charge £50 for a shirt that is going to be used once and £100 for a paving slab.

How much of a MOWTCHOPS do you want to be before realising you should shut the f***ing chuff up.

All profits made from the venture were donated to the REMF you utter plum.

Not quite. It's 10% of all proceeds that are being donated to REMF.

But having said that ... Arthur's failure to acknowledge the amount of sheer hard work that has been put into this project justifies the comment.

OK - I didn't want to rise to it but before it descends any further:

The 'knocked up for £500' comment is off the mark.

The mosaic hung in the bar cost £900
The prints cost £600
The postage for the prints cost £2000
The packaging has will cost about £300
Flyers and publicity material was £500
The REMF donation was £774

I have had to take in 3200 jpegs and resize them all and reformat them for use in the software. This has taken AGES!! I now have to package and post nearly 1000 tubes by hand.

There was profit left after the outgoings but its was not thousands and thousands and I had to get something for my time as I am self employed and the project would have left me homeless!

Anyway - thanks so much for all the kind comments chaps. Wait til you see it in the flesh - it looks great.

As Warren says, we did not do this project "to make a quick buck". Far from it.

It has been incredibly hard work, and extremely time-consuming. And personally, all my work on the project has been done in my spare time, after hours, at weekends, and all for nothing.

There's nothing like seeing an idea, born four years ago, become a reality.

Thanks everyone for the support

Well a big thumbs up from me. Especially knowing that my (late) father is in there as well as my two children who have never even been to England!

I Will look forward to showing them the picture one day when they're a bit older. I think I might not tell them they're on it and give them the surprise of their life when they spot themselves!

It looks absolutely superb.

It did make me smile as i read the comments thinking that this must be the only thread on here where everyone is agreeing and positive.

Then I found Arthur's post!

Fantastic work fellas.
