Ok then for my own peace of mind, I will not respond anymore to your posts because my autism makes it very difficult to understand when you are being sarcastic or being serious since you give no clues - I have no idea if your last response was passive aggressive or your idea of being funny. ☹️

Sorry.

Have a great day.
I have no beef with you Zeberdi and I share your autism (with adhd added too). I am sorry if I posting style is difficult for you and if it is any consolation I find your usual posts are often too long and involved for my brain make up.

The difference here as I see it is that I have not and would not ask you to change your style, I wouldn't even mention it (except now obviously because you have made a bit of a thing about my style) I just skipped over them if I didn't have the capability. I am sure that many people do the same with my posts it really is no big deal.

Surely we can all just be ourselves and post as we choose?

I wonder if he is still classed as South African or taken out American citizenship? I haven’t really followed his story that much.
Not sure to be honest, I haven't followed it much either.

Afaic - Anyone who thinks gutting the department of education and environmental protection agencies is a good idea has clearly drunk the kool aid of Project 25.
I don't know about the environmental protection, but as far as departments of education worldwide, I suspect most of them could do with gutting. I've never been fond of the idea that a huge layer of bureaucrats telling teachers how to teach will improve the system. Teachers are probably the best people to judge how to teach.

Your sarcasm is difficult to understand when there no other indications that you are joking - most posters understand that tone of voice does not come across online which is why emojis are helpful - particularly for those of us with autism.

I take what people say for face value unless it is very obvious they are being sarcastic.

Your posts aren’t obvious to me - you are deliberately wooshing me and seem to find it funny - I don’t - I just find it confusing.

Sorry you seem to have taken my posts as an attack or criticism of you - that is not my intention - I don’t think asking someone to use an emoji to indicate they are joking when they respond to my posts specifically, is telling them to change their style, it is asking that it be made more obvious that it is sarcasm by using wink or something when they are replying to me so I don’t get wooshed.

I find it sad that again you take this as a critiscism of you and chose the moment to make a dig at me in response.

Best we don’t engage with each other to avoid the communication issues. 👍 Must go - late for work - good day.

He’s still worth $308B and the richest person in the world. According to Forbes X is worth around $14B. It’s like someone with $3M gambling with €400k and the value dropping to €140k. He did it for a reason and I’m guessing he thinks it’s paid off. Don’t particularly like the guy but, he has more of a clue than career politicians.
Hence the remit to examine what savings can be made. The normal behaviour of all businesses and business people. Unlike career politicians, whose only concern is how much extra revenue they can raise to fill massive black holes left by previous administrations, who behaved in exactly the same way.
A recipe to stifle growth, re-investment and employment. They never, ever learn.

As a teacher, I totally agree with this.

However, Elon Musk and Donald Trump would be pretty low down my list of people to oversee this though.

Maybe read Project 25 - It will give you an idea of how Trump is replacing bureaucracy with autocracy.

Seems like throwing the baby out with the bathwater to me but if that's what is going to work for you, you can ignore my posts.

I haven't gone out of my way to respond to your posts (I certainly don't deliberately whoosh you) and won't go out of my way to avoid your posts.

As I say I have no beef with you.

I know that sarcasm doesn't jump out at you, which is unfortunate, but BadFish shouldn't need to change how sarcasm is written.

When Chandler would say something sarcastic on Friends, he'd have to end it with 'not' for the audience to get it. That's not the British way. Instead, we like to say something completely ludicrous with a straight face, and trust that others will find it as mad as we do.

Like you say, a right win Fox news anchor as Defence Secretary - it's completely bonkers. When BadFish described that as a 'solid appointment' your irony meter may have snapped off the dial.
As bonkers as a right wing hack at the Spectator becoming PM.

Although he wasn’t handed that role.

You mean he's an immigrant?? I didn't know that. How does Trump square that with his desire to keep America for Americans??

That will explain why Musk has to use a puppet in the White House - he presumably can't be president himself?

In case there was ever any doubt that Musk bought himself some political power

To be clear, though, this is the case every single election. Every President, blue or red, is answerable to their Super PAC’s interests.

No, he's not deliberately whooshing you.

If it works best for you to ignore his posts, obviously that's fine ( I think HWT only sees half the posts on the forum).

I appreciate it's often difficult for you to interpret things, but try not to take things personalty, I'm pretty sure people here aren't against you.

That’s fine Badfish - I don’t have any beef with you - just asking if when responding to my posts if you are joking/being sarcastic to please make it a little more obvious so I don’t reply to you as if you were being serious thats all - I literally don’t see the sarcastic tone otherwise ☹️

Could this not be done via private messaging? I’m not sure what this has to do with the US election.

😳 I did not didn’t take it as such.

You don’t understand autism if you think I was saying what I was because I was being sensitive’ or ‘taking it personally’

I am literally saying that without emojis I find it difficult to recognise sarcasm so if someone replies to my post with sarcasm I end up taking what they say seriously. (Not personally there is a difference!!!)

Don’t turn this into anything more than that.

I also I am pretty sure I didn’t say anything about putting Badfish on ignore either.

As a school Governor (in the UK), I totally disagree with this.

In our country, there is a lot of freedom on ‘how to teach’. However, we need regulation on ‘what’ to teach (national curriculum) as well as control on safe guarding and quality of education (OFSTED) and outcomes (national exams and qualifications).

Why.

If someone doesn’t understand what someone has posted does that really need private message?

It is not an attack on a single person to say one does not understand sarcasm with reference to autism.

That applies to whoever uses sarcasm/humour online. Autistic people struggle to read the intentions behind the black and white letter of the word.

No it’s not particularly related to the election but the initial discussion was and the subsequent posts communicating a lack of understanding about what the other was saying.

I would say that all of these are best worked out in conjunction with educators rather than politicians or public servants.
