Can he not be prosecuted for those while president?
It's hypothetical, since no previous president has been the subject of an attempted prosecution by a state DOJ. It is expected that the SCOTUS would weigh in and say that any prosecution (or jail sentence) would have to wait until the president is no longer president.

So last week I saw a Jeep heading down the street near me with a massive "F*** Joe Biden" flag flying from the back (not censored in anyway). I guess he thought "Let's Go Brandon" would be too subtle for the people he was trying to reach with his well reasoned political message.

But the thought occurred to yesterday that those people who have heavily invested in the "Let's Go Brandon" merch are probably looking pretty silly right about now. Won't somebody think of the idiots?

On Betfair the decimal odds of Vance winning the election are 170; seems like a bet worth a few pounds?
like where you're going with that.

been reading some left field ideas that the timing of the Biden withdrawal. leaving it after the Republican nomination they are stuck with Trump who's only campaign is knocking Biden. plus apparently they've already spent millions on advertising with that. all gone, its a new race now. do they decide to change horse too, if they can? interesting times.

High ranking Democrats getting behind Kamala Harris and gathering momentum- one gets the sense the Party does not have the stomach to consider starting from scratch with a challenge to Harris’s rightful place on the ticket

Nancy Pelosi very significantly endorses Harris

To all intents it must be a fait accompli. Too little time to allow a damaging in-fight played out in public.

Next step, internal party dealings to get the full backing of AOC and Colonel :lolol: Sanders on side, and to choose a VP candidate.

Might be too late, but at least we now have a contest.

Their astonishing TV ads have started already, BBC2 Newsnight just played a few. A line from my (biased) favourite:

“She prosecuted sex offenders.
He is one”.

Only in America!
Speaking of 'only in America', I particularly liked the clip they played on the BBC news earlier, from the formal House Oversight Committee hearing that questioned Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle about security preparations ahead of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump:

Nancy Mace (South Carolina Republican):
"Did you provide all information requested of you, ahead of this hearing?"

Kimberly Cheatle (Director, Secret Service):
"I'll have to get back to you on that."

Nancy Mace (South Carolina Republican):
"You're full of SHIT!"

:lolol:

I think - but I'm not sure - but that was a video from 2020. Clever - and accurate ad - but there was a 'community note' on the one I saw with that line in it.

Correct - it's old footage that has been recycled as it's suddenly relevant again.
