Not a lot of loanee action tonight - only three of the loanee-hosting clubs playing -
* Shrewsbury - Jack Hinchy, unused sub.
* Fleetwood - no sign of Imari Samuels in the squad.
* Port Vale - Jensen Weir came on at the hour; they still lost though.

Several of our loanees' clubs not playing today, so not a lot of action.
Our only involvement in the Championship today is Carl Rushworth for Swansea - five minutes away from another clean sheet.
League 1 loans continue to be fairly miserable. Leonard played the full 90 for Northampton (as usual) but couldn't prevent Exeter winning 2-1. Weir and Hinchy both on the bench, although Weir has come on for the last 15 minutes for Port Vale. No sign of Samuels in the Fleetwood squad - nor for Ed Turns at Crewe in League 2; he is injured though - apparently they've been doing their hammies at Crewe even more than we have!

Benchwarmer for next season, sell for £25m to buy some more youngsters, loan to a Prem side or bring him home in the summer only to find he's a starter over Bart, and Steele drops down the pecking order with McGill going on loan to the Championship to build his value.

Best to loan him to a PL side or a high-level Championship team, but definitely one where he plays every week. He’s clearly class, but last thing we want next season is more f***ing goalkeeper rotation!

Beadle's Wednesday have beaten Blackburn to move out of the relegation zone.

Rushworth really does look class and I’m a huge Steele fan but if RDZ stays could really see Carl stepping into the rotation role with Bart. I suspect the club would love a scenario where Bart rips it next season and is sold for big profit ready for Rushworth to step in. Then rinse and repeat with Beadle. They all look class.

It's almost as if they have a plan.

I knew Undav had been doing well, but hadnt quite taken note of the goal tally. 17 Bundesliga goals. Yes please to having him back next season!

They probably did. But it probably didn't involve falling out with Sanchez, getting away with playing Steele for half a season, and then having to fork out £20M to spend this season alternating between one GK who wasn't quite good enough for the PL and one who wasn't quite ready for the PL.
We could have sold on the pre-de Zerbi Sanchez for a decent price this summer or next if he wanted his move to a big club and to push for a place in the Spanish team (although that might be a long wait for Sanchez, who is only a few months younger than Unai Simon). Then we could have had a Sanchez/Walton style shoot out with Rushworth and Beadle.
Now it looks as if we'll have to move on two of the best young GKs in England, for not a great price - with no PL experience, they won't command the same fee we got for Sanchez (even allowing for the Chelsea supplement charge!) And, if we sell them to Championship clubs (Rushworth to Swansea on a permanent deal has been mooted, for example), well, Championship clubs are skint anyway.
Unless of course we sell Verbruggen and keep one of our young English starlets instead. But that might look as if we'd made a bit of a mistake, so................

Potentially an Albion/ex Albion bonanza today, but ...................
Sima started for Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts, but was subbed off after a quarter of an hour through injury. He could have been up against former Albion yoof, Alex Cochrane, but Hearts switched to 4-2-3-1, so Cochrane's usual role as a wingback wasn't required - and neither was he.
At Blackburn, both Moran and Ayari were available for Blackburn, but started on the bench; both came on with five minutes to go, not that it made much difference to Blackburn's 3-1 loss - which was great news for Sheffield Wednesday, with James Beadle in goal.
Not that Wednesday seem to appreciate young James much - their fans forum posters would much prefer their own GK, Cameron Dawson - "A solid League 1 keeper" (they're in The Championship, just) to a young kid.
In fact, going by EFL fans forums, not many of our loanees are having a good season - Leonard and Rushworth the honourable exceptions, and maybe Sarmiento at Ipswich (if you ignore the 'not a footballer' noise from West Brom!)

Don't think it's been mentioned but:

Vitesse docked 18 points and relegation for them is confirmed.

Kozlowski and Mazilu on loan there.
