Fleetwood's LCB taken off injured after half an hour - but still no call up for Samuels from the bench. That loan is not looking good. :(

Weir and Hinchy both subbed early in the second half; Leonard with the assist for Northampton's equaliser at Cambridge.

It sounds like the only way teams can think to stop Leonard in league one is to try kick him off the pitch but he’s still too good for them. I know it’s a massive step up but surely it’s worth giving him a chance in pre season.

That’s exactly what Pboro did on Tues..fouled 20 plus times..still got an assist. The last few games including today he’s scoring or assisting..he’ll be irreplaceable for us next season.

Midweek matches 12/3.

Not going great for our League1 youngsters - only Leonard starts - Weir, Hinchy and Samuels all on the bench.
Turns starts for Crewe in League2.

No better at the weekend - apart from our two GKs starting (and Beadle probably wishes he hadn't!) only Leonard and Turns got to start.

Of the rest, Sarmiento and Ayari were the only two to get any football at all, coming on as subs for 20 minutes or so each. The rest, nowhere at all. :(

Not much loanee action yesterday, for obvious reasons. Leonard and Turns both played full matches, but Jensen Weir was an unused substitute again for Port Vale.

Noticed this about one of our loanees (at St. Johnstone) a couple of years ago - apologies if it's been mentioned on NSC before; if it has I've either missed it or forgotten it. Anyway, good luck to Lars Dendoncker for his future non-footballing life.

Happy EFL Day everybody!
All 72 EFL clubs in action this afternoon (all kick offs at 3 p.m. in Leagues 1 and 2 as well) - our lads potentially involved in 7 of the 36 matches!

Championship
: Top of the bill is the Albion derby at Hillsborough - Beadle and Rushworth go head-to-head for Massive and Swansea respectively. Potentially another 'Albion derby' later this evening when Blackburn (Moran and Ayari) take on Ipswich (Sarmiento).

Leagues 1 and 2
: Leonard (The Cobblers) and Hinchy (Shrewsbury) both start in League1; Samuels (still) and Weir bench-warming. Ed Turns gets a chance to see what playing for Brighton 25 years ago would have been like - he's starting at the back for Crewe at Priestfield.

Rushworth apparently having a good game again today
From BBC:
GREAT SAVE!
Sheff Wed 1-1 Swansea

It's the hosts who go into six additional minutes on top nd Marvin Johnson is the latest to have a shot, only to be denied by Carl Rushworth, who will surely sleep well tonight after a busy day at the office.

Wednesday fans quite impressed with one Beadle made in the first half too.

Happy EFL Day (part 2).

The 'Albion derby' at Blackburn will have to be fought out on (or from) the benches - Moran, Ayari and Sarmiento can have a nice catch up chat whilst waiting for the call (if one comes).
In completed matches earlier, honours even between our young GK and our even younger GK - finished 1-1. No joy for Weir, but Samuels got a rare 15 minutes. Hinchy subbed off after 70 minutes.

Blackburn fans don't rate Moran - prefer Ayari. Good that all three are getting a bit of game time.
Really ? My best mate is a Blackburn fan and doesn’t rate Ayari, to lightweight and a luxury player. Moran hard working and busy, but still doesn’t look close to a PL player
