It’s really tough for young ‘keepers as with such a specialised and important position, there’s no chance that they get much game time unless they’re out on loan at a lower level. One thing about Steele's new contract and the signing of Verbruggen is, does that leave room for the progression of both Rushworth and Beadle? Both exceptional young keepers.
Rushworth in particular should be pushing for PL squad next season. Beadle maybe a year or two further away.
Similarly Moran looks very promising, but another attacking midfielder, probably our most stacked position.
He's usually on the bench (as he is today) so the last part of your statement is inevitably true! This clip is everything I remember about Sarmiento: incredible control and flair skill, but doesn’t seem to be in an area of the pitch where it can result in anything meaningful.
Leonard scored first for Northampton todayLittle joy for our loanees in the Championship today - Rushworth is the only starter. Ayari and Sarmiento bench-warming. No luck for our recently departed youngsters either - Connolly, Furlong (Hull) and Richards (QPR) on the bench, and Roberts not in the Bristol City squad.
Up in Scotland, former Brighton youngster plays for Hearts, but no sign of Offiah in the match day squad.
Bit more excitement in League 1 - Turns and Beadle clash in an Albion Derby at Leyton Orient (against Oxford). Marc Leonard starts (of course) for Northampton, but Weir is still not getting a run of games at Blackpool - on the bench again - and Peupion is absent from the Cheltenham squad. Further down, two ex-Brighton U21s are in the National League - Tolaj starts for Aldershot, Todd Miller on the bench for Bromley.
Apologies - my error - I missed his name when I looked at the team sheet. I've now amended my post.Peupion finally makes the bench at Cheltenham
And it was a cracker..another great performance from him played in a more advanced role now one of our def mids is back.Leonard scored first for Northampton today
.................and it didn't get much better. Sarmiento got about ten minutes, but Ayari, Weir and Peupion not a squeak. Some serious work for our loan management team between now and January, perhaps?Little joy for our loanees in the Championship today - Rushworth is the only starter. I think he wants to stay with them in Germany but Stuttgart can’t have him (obviously) without giving us first dibs on his teammate and similarly aged striker, Serhou Guirassy.Undav interviewed on the ZDF late Bundesliga show a while ago which included a cameo interview from Pascal G filmed at Lancing. Undav ran Dortmund ragged this afternoon, scoring one and denied an earlier goal after being rugby tackled by the Dortmund keeper.
He gave a neutral on-the-fence answer when asked if he'd like to stay - "I'm under contract with Brighton but we'll see what happens." Also an interview with the owner of his favourite restaurant from when he was at Meppen which is rather random
If he goes at least his resale value is clocking up nicely if he keeps scoring View attachment 169683
Yep, he's apparently very good!

We can always hope ...............................
With a better first touch, he’d have scored.Denis Undav is having a great spell. Yesterday he won a penalty and also scored a goal for Stuggart as they beat Borrusia Dortmund.
Now upto 5 goals and 2 assists in eight games. Assume he is playing with a great deal of confidence
