Postponements are affecting our loanees today - no games for Leonard and Weir in League1. Staying with League1, Turns is still only on the bench for Orient.

In the Championship, James Beadle makes his debut at Hillsborough, no doubt hoping for a better afternoon than Carl Rushworth, whose Swansea team have been on the end of a bit of a battering by Southampton (Swansea 1 - Southampton 3).
Moran and Ayari both start on the bench for Blackburn.

Of our old boys, it is good to see Matt Clarke back in action again for Middlesbrough after a long and serious injury.

12 days left of this transfer window - any more to go out on loan, I wonder? Finally a placement for Offiah, perhaps? Or maybe the likes of Samuels, Hinchy or Duffus.
Tbf to Carl Rushworth he made some very good saves.

Wow I really thought we sold Matt Clarke some time ago!
Yes, we did sell him/let him go. 18months ago - so one of our 'old boys', or alumni if you prefer. Not much news on other recently departed youngsters - Roberts only on the bench, and Connolly, Furlong and Richards not even making a match day squad, so I didn't think they were worth including today.

Gotta think Ayari is one who might not make it here. Keeps going on loan, keeps not being picked. Can't win them all I suppose and there's always hope he's more of a late bloomer but you'd expect him to have made more of an impact.

Early days - he's only had a half season on loan so far - and Moran isn't getting so much action at Blackburn these days either. I think maybe Turns should be recalled and reloaned (if possible) - after being a regular starter for Orient when they got promoted last season, he isn't getting any game time now.

Edit: Moran has come on for the last 20 minutes.

Oh great! Now Abdallah Sima is out 'long term' after getting a thigh injury at the AFCON (although somehow he seems to have managed this without taking part in the tournament, according to this BBC article).

Ouch!

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed to BBC Scotland that Abdallah Sima will be out for "two or three months".

The Senegal forward has had an operation on a thigh injury he suffered while on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

So, are Rangers - or some Rangers fans on the Rangers forum anyway - still keen on signing him permanently? If so, how much would they - or could they - pay (bearing in mind that we paid (I think) about £7M for him)?

Ours, but out on loan until we moved him on permanently last summer, Teddy Jenks' interesting career continues. Just when his new club, Forest Green Rovers look like they've called in a bit of managerial experience to stabilise them, Teddy is off again, to try his luck on loan in the SPL again, this time with Ross County.

Just in time for a chance to face Celtic on Saturday! Good luck to him!

FA Cup 4th. round Saturday - loanee round up.

FA Cup
: triumph and disaster. Jeremy Sarmiento scores again for Ipswich - but ends up on the end of an embarrassing giant-killing (with former Brighton GK Christian Walton to keep him company).
League1; Weir made his full debut (ie first whole match) for Port Vale, and Leonard played the full game for Northampton too - both on the losing side though. No sign of Turns in the Orient squad - 4 days to get him a better loan?
Recently departed Albion youngsters: most of the interest today lay north of the border. Teddy Jenks had a 90 minute baptism of fire at Parkhead (County lost 1-0), while previous regular Jack Spong still appears to be less favoured by the new manager - just came on for the final 20 minutes. The only winner today was Laurent Tolaj, whose goal set the Shots on the way to a 3-1 home win.

First summary since the window finished - who's making starts for their new clubs today?
Championship:
Blackburn - Moran starts, Ayari on the bench; Wednesday - Beadle starts; Ipswich - Sarmiento starts; Swansea - Rushworth in goal. Encouraging!
League1:
Samuels vs. Weir (Port Vale) at Fleetwood this afternoon - Weir starts, Samuels on bench; Leonard starts for Northampton; Hinchy on the Shrewsbury bench.
League2:
Turns straight in for Crewe.
Good number of starters - let's hope some of these second half loans are better than some were in the first half of the season.
Recently gone - but not forgotten:
Teddy Jenks starts again for Ross County in the SPL; no sign of Jack Spong at Queens Park, nor of Connolly or Furlong for Hull. Tolaj leads the line for the Shots.
