Albion vs. Former Albion in t'Cup last night - Jensen Weir, who surprisingly is still at Blackpool (who graciously allowed him 11 minutes game time, after they'd gone 2-0 up) against Teddy Jenks (FGR) who got just over an hour before being hooked.

Cam Peupion recalled from waste-of-time loan at Cheltenham - not getting gametime, and now playing for our U21s against Lyon in the PL International Cup.

It's been a real mixed bag of loans this first half of the season. Some standout performers (Sima, Undav, Moran, Rushworth, Beadle) and some who aren't even seeing the pitch.

Peupion already recalled.

Possible recalls from disappointing loans?: Ayari, Kozlowski, Weir. Turns doesn't seem to have had a chance to push on which is a shame as left footed CBs are valuable.

You missed out Leonard - Northampton fans have been delighted with him.
I agree with your suggestion that the four you mention could be better placed elsewhere, and also wonder whether it's time to put Alzate in the shop window in the Championship - having been preciously f***ed up in the window he certainly deserves the chance!
Everything still very quiet on the Offiah front.

Alzate is currently injured, which is a shame as he'd played nearly every minute for Standard Liege since he joined (missed 1 game through suspension). I'm not sure how long he's out for but it looks like he's picked up an ankle strain so hopefully not too long. He's also out of contract at the end of the season and I don't think we have a years option so there isn't much of a shop window to put him in unfortunately. He seems quite happy over there so he'd probably be keen to stay put, unless we can get a fee in January, but he's free to negotiate a contract with any club outside of England from January, so he holds a lot more of the cards than we do.

Yeh, thought it might be something like that. I still think it's a shame he never got the chance to shine in the Championship and perhaps make a career for himself in the lower end of the PL. I thought he did enough for us, TBH, to demonstrate he was at that level.

Always thought he would make it. Trouble was played many games at FB and WB rather than best position of CM

The Saturday round-up .....................
Championship:
Moran played 90 minutes for Blackburn, and Sarmiento got an hour for the Baggies. Ayari an unused sub, as usual, and of course Rushworth played this weekend too, but on Friday night.
League1:
In the Albion derby at Northampton, Leonard beat Beadle 2-1. Turns an unused sub, and Weir not in the Blackpool squad at all - have we brought him home yet?
The ex's:
Connolly scored, but finished on the losing side. Cochrane got an assist as Hearts beat St. Mirren and Jack Spong played the full 90 for Queen's Park, but their 0-0 draw couldn't lift them off the bottom.

Fabulous performance from Leonard today..seems to thrive against the better ball playing sides. Particularly sweet that it was a last gasp win over Oxford..their fans very much the Chelsea’s of Lg 1.

Some news on the Odel Offiah front - it seems that Wigan Athletic, currently near the bottom of League1 are after him for a half season loan. Good news, if that means his health scares (whatever they were) are now behind him. Wonder why he hasn't gone back to Hearts though - he seemed to be doing a decent job for them when he played, and the fans seemed to like him. Anyway, good luck to him if the Wigan move comes off - he should at least get a good welcome at his uncle's old stomping ground!

If he's back we may need him.

Unlikely - it would f*** up his potential loan to Wigan (or anybody else). For maybe just one match it would be harsh on the lad, who needs a loan to get some regular senior game time.
We have U21s like Jackson, McConville or Kavanagh available if absolutely necessary - though it would be a huge ask for them to be drafted straight into the team for Wet Sham alongside JPVH.

Two assists for Marc Leonard tonight.
Well, that's at least one of our out-field loanees kicking up a storm - the rest? Not so much. In the Championship, only Rushworth starts - Moran, having seemingly been doing alright, drops to the bench along with regular bench warmers Ayari and Sarmiento.
In League1, no better: Leonard plays, along with Beadle, but Turns is on the bench for the Os, and Weir is ............................. hopefully back at Brighton already.
