Albion U-18s have been drawn at home to Norwich City or Leeds United in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup. The tie has to be played by January 20th.

This fixture SHOULD be at the Amex, but who knows if it will be.

Norwich host Leeds next Friday, December 15th.

Leeds have just beaten Norwich 2-0 so we host our chums from the north in the 4th round.

@AZ Gull - nothing very exciting or enlightening here, but a little interview with Ruari McConville that might interest you.

Now he wants to follow in the footsteps some of his academy teammates who have earned call-ups to Brighton's first-team in recent months.

The Northern Ireland youth internartional said: “It’s encouraging and shows you that the opportunity is there, and that you need to do that extra bit to try and get there. The most important thing is that young players are getting the chance and when those opportunities next come around, you have to make sure that it’s you.

“We were in the stands and went mad when Jack [Hinshelwood] scored against Brentford. We saw Benicio [Baker-Boaitey] get on the pitch as well which was great to see.

Albion U-18s will host Leeds United in the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup on Saturday January 20 at 3pm.

Disappointingly, the fixture is being played at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre rather than the Amex.

That's a real shame.

With no game for the first team it would have been an ideal opportunity to play at The Amex.

For anyone interested in attending, tickets are available via the club's Tickets page (someone on X has stated they've already booked their ticket, although I'm seeing a message saying they go on sale to season ticket holders tomorrow).

If Albion U-18s beat Leeds in a week's time in the 4th round of the FA Youth Cup, they face a trip to Sheffield United in the 5th round.

Albion U-18s warmed up for their FA Youth Cup 4th round tie against Leeds next weekend with a welcome 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion in the U-18 Premier League South today. Jaydon Fuller came on as a substitute, his first appearance in 13 months after recovering from injury.

Manchester United U-18s are top of the U-18 Premier League North, having won all 11 games they've played. But somehow they have managed to lose 2-0 at Swindon Town in the FA Youth Cup 4th round this evening.

A reminder that Albion U-18s host Leeds United at the same stage of the competition on Saturday.

I’m looking forward to a trip to cold lancing to watch, will be good to see the u18s. Wonder what sort of team is put out, will players be called back from the u21s to play

The only player still eligible for the U-18s who has been playing regularly for the U-21s in recent weeks is Joe Knight. Charlie Tasker (right-back/centre-back) has had more limited time with the U-21s but he was back with the U-18s on Saturday. It should be just about the strongest line-up we could muster on Saturday (hopefully including Knight).
I imagine U-16s Freddie Simmonds and Harry Howell will be in the squad too (they both started against Harrogate Town in the last round) so with CB Charlie Penman also probably back from injury (he came on as a sub on Saturday) Calderon will have some decisions to make.

This evening, Category One academy Newcastle United U-18s trail non-Category One academy Bournemouth U-18s 4-0 .... at home.... at half-time.
