Not a great day for our young hopefuls up and down the UK. No Brighton Derby at QPR - Khadra started for Birmingham, but Richards nowhere to be seen in the home squad. Connolly still absent too.
In League1, Rushworth played at home earlier in a 3-0 defeat. Weir playing (also losing at home) and Derby are losing at home, with Roberts only on the bench.
League2 - a bit more activity. A real Brighton derby at Northampton - Leonard one up against Beadle's Crewe. Turns also started for the Os, but Miller still waiting for a start on the bench again, and both Spomg and Jenks (injured) out of contention for Crawley.
Brighton v. ex-Brighton at Fir Park earlier - Glodson and Rangers beat Motherwell and Furlong 4-2. No sign of Tolaj for Dundee.

Connolly still injured yes. Liam Rosenior did however confirm a few days ago that they want to sign Aaron in the summer.

Fot the benefit of anybody who doesn't look at the Albion website:

I enjoy these occasional inputs from GG - I hope the Albion continue to put them on the site

International break and international call ups mean less league activity for the loanees today - but hey, we've got a genuine Albion derby at Doncaster! Todd Miller gets his first(?) start for the home side against Northampton Town with Marc Leonard. Leonard 1 Miller 0 at the mo. Turns starts as usual for the Os; Spong on the bench for Crawley.
In League 1, Roberts and Weir both started.

James Beadle played the full 90 for the England U19 team against Iceland. Took a penalty to get past him - the only goal of the match.

"There was a real battle developing between Beadle in the England net and Oskarsson leading the Iceland attack and that theme recurred in a much more direct capacity on 15 minutes. Lukas Petersson’s ball downfield from the Iceland area was wonderfully brought down by his forward in the England box, who couldn’t believe his eyes as Beadle produced a fine save to prevent his shot providing the visitors with the opener."

Seems our boy done good...............

Not great for our Championship loanees today - only Khadra starts. The other two, Richards and Connolly both out injured. Better in League1 though - Rushworth, Weir and Roberts all start.
Good news in League2 too - Brighton derby at Donny today; Todd Miller starting for the home team, Beadle in goal for Crewe keeping them out so far. Regulars Leonard and Turns srarting as usual, but Spong still bench-warming for Crawley.
A long, long way oop north, Furlong is playing for Motherwell, but no sign of Tolaj at Dundee (injured?)

Any idea on how he's been doing? I see he's played mostly left midfield for them but he says he's happy there, lwb or lb. Could he be the back up to Estupinian next season?
Difficult to say - not all fans forums have the same detail - or footfall - that PL ones do! Lukewarm response in the first couple of matches - "Looks like one for the youth" - "Grew into the game a bit in the second half" - since then, pretty much silence! He's started (I think) every game since, so I guess he must be doing something right!
Estupinan back up? I don't know about that - it is the SPL after all. Cochrane had a very successful loan at Hearts - and he's still there, not back in Brighton fighting for a first team place.

He'd certainly offer as much as Enciso and Sarmiento at this point
Absolutely agree with this. Great they're getting a go, and I can see the positives of the young S Americans being kept together, but there's probably at least three players out on loan who would be contributing as much (or as little) coming off the bench.

Disagree - Sarmiento and Enciso both look good I think. Sarmiento has at least a couple of assists(Bournemouth and Everton) and Enciso has been a whisker away from scoring. Khadra seems an enigma - occasionally brilliant but inconsistent
