No Roberts for Derby last night, not on bench either. Injured?

In League 1 both Weir and Rushworth starting this afternoon.
In League 2 Marc Leonard dropped to the bench for the big match against Bradford. The good news is that Laurent Tolaj and Teddy Jenks are both starting today, for Salford and Crawley respectively - neither have been getting much game time up to now; I think it might even be their first starts.

Injured - I did mean to update you! He's been playing well of late on the left of a three - Scored v MK Dons last week. Nice player....

Rushworth won the Brighton derby at Sincil Bank (aka the LNER Stadium) this afternoon - 2-1 to the home side. Jensen Weir did manage to beat him to get the consolation goal for Morecambe though.

Leonard came on for the last twenty minutes for Northampton. The other two were subbed off - Jenks after an hour, Tolaj with ten minutes left (both on the losing side).

Burgess Hill
Tommy Reid gave away a poor penalty (rash challenge) then (as usual for Brighton keepers) failed to save it, resulting in a 2-1 defeat for Burgess Hill.

Slightly off topic how much is Gyokeres now worth and do we have a sell on %
They don't have any money, meaning he'd be quite cheap I image. Think they'd sell him for £6-7m.

Doubtful if there's a sell-on as he was sold with little time left on his contract (not a good negotiating point from Brightons perspective).

Young mr Connolly still not in Venezias matchday squad and he is now labelled a mystery by the local media, who are also speculating on if he might return to Brighton in January.

He wasn't in the last one or two matchday squads before his call-up to Irish U21 and since then the manager (+ the new manager) has said very little about him, referring to some injury (without giving any specifics). After last game the manager said Connolly should be back "next week" (which was last week) and in the pre-game interview two days ago he said that Connolly was training separately... whether this means he is actually returning from injury or if he's messed up somehow or whatever... might be another few weeks before we get some clarity.

Mixed fortunes for our domestic loanees this weekend.
Weir played the full 90 for Morecambe last night, as did Rushworth for Lincoln today (conceded two goals im the defeat at Shrewsbury). Roberts came on for just about long enough to get his boots dirty as a late substitute for Derby.
In League 2, Tolaj got an hour after starting for Salford (yet to score, AFAIK); Jenks starting again for Crawley, but Leonard dropped to the bench.

Cheers for that.

I appreciate your regular round-up of our loanees @GT49er, especially when the focus on regular professional football is less due to the WC
I don't usually follow the European loanees (I leave that to the likes of Swanny, who has a far superior knowledge of football in Europe than I do - and thankfully he chips in on here occasionally) but with our WC last 16 match coming up, I thought I'd check out our Senegalese wonder-kid (once touted as a £25M player).
He's played mostly 90 minutes for a dozen games for Angers this season, but hasn't scored yet (and don't ask Stoke fans about him!) To think that just over a year ago he was Czech young player of the year, playing for Senegal in the WC qualifiers .......................... then he signed for Brighton and went to Stoke!

To think, we could have had another one of our's at the WC!

I have concluded Connelly is just taking the piss now and his heart is not in the game. Probably already looking for his next "holiday location" (coughs) to pretend to play for another non english team. At this rate i couldnt even see a League 2 team taking him even if it was for free and we paid 90% of his wages

Good job we never signed him then.

Not a loanee (and AFAIK he never went out on loan) but was one of our own in the youth set up not so many years ago. Moved on from us, and now playing for League 2 Stockport County, who dumped League 1 opponents out of the FA Cup - thanks to a first ever hat-trick from our (once upon a time) very own Will Collar.
