What a complete washout the Ryder Cup has been this year. Regardless of the result now, as an event and a spectacle the whole thing has been totally destroyed. Dribs and drabs of play here and there, no sense of momentum, no anticipation of the matches coming up because they're going to be bloody HOURS away. Gutted.

Should've cancelled the whole thing and moved it to the Algarve next week.

I was talking to someone about this yesterday. October in this country was never going to be great, let alone in the wettest part. It's a europen event, there's shedloads of championship courses in portugal or spain so why not have it there.
Either that or have it earlier over here, but that seems to be the PGA tour's fault for refusing to move their competition.

I suppose you can't stage it all that much earlier, as there are still qualifying points up for grabs in some of the later tournaments. But October in Wales was asking for trouble wasn't it. I don't recall it ever being staged this late in the calender.
