Rules and Guidelines For The 2009 NSC Summer Six-a-Side Tournament

Teams will not be allowed to play, until the £50 entry fee is paid BEFORE the tournament starts.
This will be paid when registering on the morning of the tournament.
Teams must be registered before 10.30am

SQUADS, TEAMS AND SUBSTITUTIONS
- Maximum Squad Size is NINE
- 5 x outfield players and 1 x goal keeper on the pitch at any one time.
- Substitutions are rolling, but the referee must be notified before the substitution can be made.

ATTIRE
- Shin pads must be worn
- Sensible footwear must be worn, and there are no stud restrictions
- All other accessories are positively encouraged

GAME DURATION
- The games will be played over two halves lasting 8 minutes each.
- The semi finals, 3rd/4th place playoff and final will also be two halves of 8 minutes. In the event of a draw, there will be no extra time, and the tie will be settled on penalties. 5 each, then sudden death.

- There are no over head height or touch restriction rules

- The top two from each group will qualify for the semi finals. The winner of Group A will play the Runners up of Group B and The winner of Group B will play the Runners up of Group A
- In the event of teams on equal points, goal difference will be used, then goals scored, then head to head record.

GOAL KEEPERS
- There are no back pass rules
- Distribution: Goal keepers must throw the ball or kick the ball off the floor. (Kicking out of the hand is not permitted.)
- Goal kicks to be taken from the back line

PENALTY AREAS
- Normal football rules apply:
- Goal Keepers cannot handle outside the box
- Defenders/Attackers are allowed in the box
- Goals can be scored inside the box

BALL OUT OF PLAY + FREEKICKS
- Normal Goal Kick and Corner Kick rules apply
- If the ball goes off the side of the pitch, balls must be rolled under arm back onto the pitch under head height.
- Defenders must be at least 5 paces away from the position of the free kick/throw in

FAIR PLAY
- Captains are responsible for the conducts of their players.
- If the referee feels players are becoming too aggressive, he can tell the captain to substitute them. This results in a one match suspension and a £2 donation to REMF
- There will be no yellow or red cards
- Foul Language and Aggressive behaviour must be kept to a minimum, as it is a public park, with families and children enjoying a day out too.
- The referee's decision is final!!

Oh, and so you know, White Hart won the tournament Sunday, with Alans Fish Bar coming second. They won on penalties. So coming third behind them two was pretty bloody good!
