But given the amount of neutrals who don't think it was, it is another one that should be nowhere near the threshold of overturning a decision.
Possibly. But failing to get away with the ref missing a foul, isn't a reason to be fuming at the officials.

That's ridiculous. Their penalty was clear as day. Caicedos challenge was a foul, but not all fouls are yellows. Meanwhile he gave a huge amount of fouls in our favour and got the Gallagher yellows spot on.

Absolutely bizarre decision to give us a penalty in the first place if he did. I don't think any of our players, or even theirs, knew it had been given. I can't say I saw him give it and the commentators didn't.

Chances are we wouldn't have scored the resulting corner and the result would've been unchanged, but losing a chance at a last attack does feel like an injustice. That's a problem with the laws of the game though if it is the case.

I don't think their penalty was quite as clear cut as some are making out. 'Clear and obvious' is a myth.

Strange how everyones view is different. I thought he had a good game, and VAR did exactly what it was there for.....even if both decisions were against us!
Unfortunately we have fans turning into the very kind of fan we would have derided 15-20 years ago.

Personally think their penalty was fair enough. Milner never gets anywhere near the ball, and catches his foot. How can it not be a foul?

Agree Caicedo lucky to stay on, and the late VAR thing was a farce.
Happens all the time and not often given especially as keeper was there - not a pen for me. But the most important thing is it was NEVER A CLEAR AND OBVIOUS ERROR. Jarrod Gillet again, who I’m sure has done this to us several times now.

When Pawson decided to hang onto the ball for 2 minutes with a chelsea player on the floor i was dumbfounded.
Ball given back to us.

Chelsea given a breather, when down to 9 momentarily and time taken out of the game.

Corrupt

This is it.

The Milner one you can argue either way. The ref had a great view of it. It doesn't meet the clear and obvious threshold. I said exactly the same for the Pedro one against Athens.

Not sure how a clearly viewed incident for the Chelsea penalty, on a subjective matter can be clear and obvious… Gillett famously the ref who allowed Dunk? To be poleaxed in the first minute @ Burnley and awarded a goal; but deemed contact today a foul.

Between that inconsistency and the bizarre penalty claim in the last minute - Pawson is going to shoulder blame but its the VAR official who is the issue (again)

Though surprised Caicedo not sent off - less likely to happen if already down to 10 men…

I thought the Mitoma challenge was a clear penalty.

But fouls are never given against him.

What did the TV viewers think?

Var has added so much pressure onto refs. It’s bloody awful.
